Overview
The Director of Consumer Insights will have an undeniable passion for the Customer Experience and will lead our customer obsessed culture transformation. This individual will be the link to the merchandising, food and digital teams who are tasked with developing innovative products and experiences that meet the needs of our customers. This person must truly understand our current and future customers and use these insights to drive decisions as well as our corporate strategy. He/She will act as the lead customer advocate, leading organization change efforts focused on the customer and build capabilities that empower teams to make better decisions. The work will span deep qualitative and quantitative immersion, multi-source ideation, trend research and rigorous analytics.

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Develop deep understanding of both our current and future customer using both qualitative and quantitative analysis
• Build strong awareness and adoption of our customer segments throughout the entire organization
• Integrate data sources from across the company into single, cohesive system
• Independently lead research and analysis on multiple, simultaneous projects
• Serve as centralized Consumer Insights expert, providing integrated consumer, business, marketplace, trends, and insights to facilitate strategic and tactical planning that will result in actionable platforms for profitable growth and innovation
• Advise senior leadership on analysis of research and new market findings to inform and guide strategic direction
• Continually track consumer and business macro and micro trends and deliver quarterly “consumer insights day” to total company.
• Coordinate all information assets (i.e. syndicated data, digital, trends, marketplace, etc) to ensure multi-dimensional view relevant to company needs
• Maintain continuous communication with interdepartmental team leaders to deeply understand their needs and develop programs to support
• Demonstrated track record of turning data into meaningful and actionable business insights
• Support learning for white space opportunities, through multi-dimensional research, identifying underserved or “unknown” needs and aspirations, exploring outside categories for influence, opportunity and category threats
• Impact company Innovations process via co-designing and facilitating key Innovations training, brainstorms and partnerships, with special emphasis on Discovery and Ideation.
• Provide research data and strategic advice to leadership for special projects as requested.
• Manage research vendor relationships
Proven Ability in the Following:
• Business Consulting Skills: Ability to identify opportunities and gaps using a holistic understanding of business fundamentals and application of quantitative and qualitative industry, consumer and marketing mix insights.
• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex information and implications both verbally, in interactions with senior customer leaders, and in written presentations, utilizing "storytelling techniques" to communicate a clear, compelling and cohesive story.
• Analytic Skills: Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify patterns, opportunities and gaps, and integrate across disparate data sources and then translate into insights.
• Marketing Research Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of syndicated market intelligence sources (e.g., Nielsen/IRI, Mintel, Kantar, etc.), custom research methodologies & best practices, and proprietary data and systems
• Project Management: Strong project management skills and execution orientation to keep projects and teams focused on improvement tasks and deliverables.
• People Management:Ability to set & execute a team vision, enrolling team members to stretch themselves in the pursuit of progress and develop their abilities in the process.
Qualifications
• Bachelors/ 4 Yr. Degree; MBA preferred
• 7+ years of experience in marketing analytics, consumer research, or business intelligence within the consumer goods industry
• Experience in working directly with Marketing teams and designing, executing, and analyzing primary & secondary data
• Experience in brand development, innovation & communications testing, and marketing mix analytics
