About the Team
Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is a multi-channel specialty retailer of products for the home. The Company operates in two segments: direct-to-customer and retail. The direct-to-customer segment has seven merchandising concepts (Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, PBTeen, West Elm, Rejuvenation and Mark and Graham) which sell its products through its seven e-commerce Websites and eight direct-mail catalogs. The retail segment has five merchandising concepts (Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, West Elm and Rejuvenation) which sells products through its retail stores.

We are a multi-location team with teams in San Francisco, Rocklin, Memphis, Brooklyn and international locations like Singapore and India. About the Role
We at WSI Tech believe in building culture that is focused on outcome vs output and where we excel through experts leading other experts. This is a critical role with the responsibility of building, delivering and keeping up all of our customer experiences and platforms along with some selling solutions that directly contribute to customer experience. The responsibilities have a very large scale in terms of breadth that includes ecommerce, POS, Mobile, Voice, associate tools in stores and depth that covers from front end to backend along with core platform, machine learning, data frameworks, Analytics. The leader would be delivering these engineering for all of our brands and hence it provides a unique experience and challenge to lead a engineering function serving multiple brands.
We are looking for a leader who will make it a mission to be a customer champion and also extend that mission to all of his/her teams by focusing on all aspects of the software delivery lifecycle, improving on test automation & CI/CD and leverage. This role will partner very closely with Supply Chain Engineering and our Product /UX teams to build nimble and high performing teams focused on delivering frictionless and delightful customer experiences.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• An ideal candidate should have technology design, delivery and production support expertise for large scale Omni-channel technology teams.
• 15+ years of total technology experience with focus on architecture, delivery, QE, planning and support with increasing responsibilities and scope.
• 5+ years at a VP/SVP and above level experience in similar functions for a sizable organization and relevant scale and complexity.
• Proven track record to partner with multiple stakeholders and partners to build an innovative and collaborative engineering portfolio.
• Technical chops to understand the architecture, systems, problems, identify patterns, suggest solutions and make right decisions.
• Experience to build, evolve and coach large teams.
• Ability to prioritize, help making fast decisions and focus on delivering them.
• Coach and mentor teams for continuous improvements.
• Curiosity to learn quickly and scale it to others.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or related field.
• You are an agile and hands on leader who is passionate about helping transform companies by turning technology to its fully advantage.
• You have deep and broad expertise in software design & delivery with a focus on customer facing technology.
Technical Competencies required:
• Software delivery leveraging agile and lean practices at scale.
• Open source software development languages & frameworks like Java, Spring, Databases, NO SQL, Hadoop etc.
• Good understanding of Cloud , AI/ML, Robotics. AR/VR and other emerging tech.
• Ability to evaluate and productionalize solutions from vendors and emerging solutions.
• Expertise in building highly scalable and transactional customer facing applications.
• Good understanding of infrastructure, networks and security with a focus on security life cycle management and cyber security
• Experience with building CI/CD and DevOps solutions.
• Passion and expertise to build highly flexible and performant data solutions like -- Databases, catalogs, NoSQL implementations etc.
• Ecommerce and retails systems understanding with full ecosystem impact.
• This is a highly critical and visible role and will directly report to the CTO. We expect this leader to run a highly efficient engineering organization with a focus on innovation with the customers, high quality delivery and uptime.
