Position Description
• Creates and executes Merchandising and business unit strategies (for example, sales, profitability, growth initiatives), strategic business units (SBUs) and total company initiatives
• Develops strategic frameworks, customer and competitor insights, trend assessment, and understands drivers of sales and profit
• Develops materials to support executive team, strategy discussions and decisions
• Directs the complex analysis, research and planning to drive key strategic focus areas, translating insights into actions and implications for Walmart
• Drives business strategy development and provides overall direction to large scale, high impact projects
• Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals
• Collaborates with senior leaders within Walmart Merchandising, Planning and Execution teams by supporting several focus areas
• Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce
• Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Retail Management, Economics, or related field and 4 years experience in retail management, financial planning, category management, buying, replenishment, operations, or related field OR 6 years experience in retail management, financial planning, category management, buying, replenishment, operations, or related field.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
2 years experience in Walmart Merchandising or Walmart Operations.
4 years experience developing financial, marketing, or merchandising strategies.
4 years experience with retail math (for example, margin, inventory turn, average price).
4 years experience working with profit and loss (P&L).
Master's degree in Business Administration or related field.
