Director of Compliance
The primary purpose of the Director of Compliance is to protect company assets, personnel and customers, reduce shrink by managing and implementing company programs and strategies. Ensure the organization understands and complies with any laws or regulations established by regulatory organizations, relevant to each specific business segment, such as: FSA, OSHA, HIPPA, TTB, and other regulatory organizations. The Director of Compliance is also required to ensure all practices are completed consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. Additionally, this role will look for ways to grow business by enabling the company to offer solutions that are complex given the nature of category (i.e. Alcohol, Fire Arms, Raw Foods, etc.).

Position Summary
The primary purpose of the Director of Compliance is to protect company assets, personnel and customers, reduce shrink by managing and implementing company programs and strategies. Ensure the organization understands and complies with any laws or regulations established by regulatory organizations, relevant to each specific business segment, such as: FSA, OSHA, HIPPA, TTB, and other regulatory organizations. The Director of Compliance is also required to ensure all practices are completed consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. Additionally, this role will look for ways to grow business by enabling the company to offer solutions that are complex given the nature of category (i.e. Alcohol, Fire Arms, Raw Foods, etc.).
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Implement proactive company strategies to reduce risk; and ensure activities within the organization are consistent with the company's goals and initiatives.
• Develops and manages investigations of potential breach of contract or expectations based on company policy and/or federal/state/local regulations.
• Identify and communicate shrink, risk, compliance, food safety, threats and other business related issues to business partners and work together to develop actions to address issues through active managerial controls.
• Perform store safety, OSHA, Hazmat, Food Safety & Sanitation, Controlled substances, and other audits as needed throughout the organization.
• Achieve company and market level compliance goals.
• Develops business continuity and growth plans, particularly within areas that by their nature have a high risk profile (alcohol, fire arms, food safety)
• Develops talent within the organization.
• Drives safety results across all facilities.
• Minimizes financial risk.
• Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates.
• Influences and manages financial forecast, budget and plan.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct Reports
Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources
Indirect Reports
May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports
Travel and/or Driving Requirements
Travel is an essential duty and function of this job. Driving is not an essential duty or function of this job.

Minimum Qualifications
Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree
Field of Study/Area of Experience:
5+ years of experience in Relevant Industry (Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or Corporate Compliance)
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities List
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
• Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate professionally to all levels within the organization of Sam’s Club, Suppliers and Shopper Events.
• Project Management Expertise, as well as, Business Development Strategies Experience
• Ability to work toward item quotas with measurable results
• Multi-Task Oriented
• Ability to preserve confidentiality of information.
• Ability and willingness to move with purpose and a strong sense of urgency.
• Ability to work extended days when needed for business purposes.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks/projects.
• Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes.
• Ability to work within strict time frames and resolute deadlines.
Environmental & Physical Requirements
Field / Administrative Requirements
Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office, field, retail store, or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: engage in considerable physical activity, ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds, stand on feet for long periods of time, use products or cook food as appropriate for the demonstration, and may be required to work in extremely cold conditions (i.e. refrigerated and freezer sections). Also required to travel and drive. The use of proper safety practices when handling the products and/or cooking is essential.
