As a Director, Talent Management, you’ll own the capabilities of organizational talent planning, careers, and performance management. This role will create the vision, processes, and tools to align with corporate strategies and business goals. This position plays the lead role in working with HR leadership to assess, plan, develop and connect internal talent, ensuring that the organization has a strong performance culture and is prepared with a leadership pipeline required to achieve Target’s business objectives. Job Responsibilities & Qualifications:
◦ Partner with Sr Director to develop enterprise talent management strategy, roadmap, and operational plan to ensure talent capabilities are in place to enable business growth
◦ Leads a team that sets, aligns, and drives organizational talent planning, career experiences, and performance management practices for Target.
◦ Consults with HR and business leaders to understand talent needs and identify innovation solutions
◦ Researches latest developments in talent management to inform future strategies and differentiate Target
◦ Owns Workday System design, implementation, and measurement plan for talent management modules
Owns capability development, alignment, and optimization:
◦ Talent Planning
# Defines and champions Talent Planning philosophy, tools, measurements and supporting resources
# Designs and analyzes the organizational talent review and succession planning process in line with business strategy to identify and retain top talent, facilitate movement and development, and build a diverse leadership bench
# Enables the creation and monitoring of key talent pools (hi potentials, diverse, critical role successors)
◦ Performance Management
# Defines, analyzes, and champions Target’s Performance Management philosophy, tools, measurements and supporting resources across enterprise
# Partners extensively with enterprise strategy, employee relations and compensation to ensure holistic strategy and aligned components to enable performance driven culture
◦ Career
# Defines Careers philosophy, tools, measures, and supporting resource that deliver on Employment Brand
# Partners with strategic workforce planning, learning & development, compensation, benefits and talent acquisition to ensure holistic strategy and aligned components to enable an experience-driven career culture
◦ Talent COE Integration
# Provide insights to HR COEs and generalist teams to inform broader talent strategies (e.g. acquisition, retention, development, programs)
# Work across Talent management, Planning and Delivery, and COE partners to develop and deliver integrated roadmap, key priorities, and communications for key stakeholders to operationalize agenda
About you:
• Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years in Human Resources Business Partner and Talent Management roles
• Ability to set, align, and operationalize strategy at scale
• Complex project management experience working across enterprise or multiple functions with competing agendas
• Proven track record of leading and influencing, exceptional collaboration, relationship, and consultation skills with demonstrated success building partnerships at all organizational levels
• Strong team leadership and ability to develop a high performing team
• Experience training and facilitating groups with strong presence and ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• Ability to flex and navigate ambiguity based on dynamic business needs
• Experience using talent analytics and building business cases to drive decision making
• Experience and / or strong familiarity with Workday
