Job Description:
The Director of Domestic Sourcing will drive, the significant growth plans of the Operation Supplies and Equipment Division at Linen Holdings and will delineate the domestic textile vendors and product offerings. This is a unique opportunity lead a new division inside a successful corporation.
We are seeking a strong leader with entrepreneurial spirit that works well in gaining support from internal and external partners. A person who is passionate, energetic and positive thinking with a strong record of accomplishment and success building a vision and constructing a compelling strategic plan. This opportunity requires strong communication and collaboration skills including, liaison to BBB, compelling vendor relations and gaining internal company support for this initiative. A strong skill in merchandising and curating an assortment of products that best supports and ensures profitable growth is required.
Requirements:
Required Job Functions:
• Manage vendor relationships to maximize product availability, timely delivery and overall profitability
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and discounts with suppliers to ensure optimum cost and reliable supply
• Identify and execute cost optimization strategies
• Institute preferred supplier tiers and metrics to evaluate supplier performance
• Establish product category direction and price tiers for good, better and best.
• Develop business strategies outlining strengths, weaknesses, new opportunities for the business
• Evaluate vendor performance to maximize profitability and achieve financial objectives
• Establishing and maintaining measurable performance metrics for all levels of procurement activities to include but not limited to supplier performance, supplier quality, internal order placement performance
• Partner with Planning on the forecasting, lead time and delivery of assortments to maximize the profitability and growth
• Communicate and effectively train and gain support from sales organization
• Solicit feedback to constantly improve product assortments based on customer need
• Managing and mentoring a team of purchasing professionals
• Coordinate multiple group efforts within the company to achieve objectives
• Liaison with BBB
• Support E-com implementation
Education / Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree Required
• 8-10 years minimum experience in procurement/ sourcing
• Hospitality experience purchasing OS&E product preferred.
• Knowledge building a new business inside a corporate environment.
• Familiarity with the requirements to maintain an E-Com Site.
• Experience driving large-scale transformational sourcing activities
• Outstanding negotiation skills
• Superior verbal communication and presentation skills
• Exceptional organizational and problem solving skills.
• Expert level in Proficient level in Microsoft Office Products: (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
