Job Description
SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to manage the Rite Aid Health Alliance program, current and future pay for performance programs and develop, implement, operate, and measure new pharmacy business opportunities which provide better care to our patients, enhance the professional services offered by our pharmacists, stimulate customer acquisition and retention and enhance our company's vision of being a Retail Healthcare Organization. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
• Manage, develop and expand Rite Aid Health Alliance. This includes responsibility for the provider/vendor relations, support pharmacist activity with the program, patient engagement results, outcomes, program quality assurance, economic model and working with corporate and vendor partners to enhance program
• Responsible for developing business plans for all new and existing innovative strategic healthcare programs that are explored and operationalized. Monitoring success and developing strategy for growth
• Collaborate with the managed care department, pharmacy benefit managers and health plans to develop programs to improve patient outcomes, influence gap closures and review opportunities using PBM reports and EQUIPP to manage pay for performance programs. Develop communication strategy to manage opportunities and outcomes.
• Develop procedures to improve and monitor CMS star measures, including compliance and adherence through development and enhancement of systematic solutions for patients and pharmacists as well as training for pharmacists to assure quality patient encounters. Including but not limited to POC
• Serve as a contact for other healthcare professionals, professional organizations and vendors when pharmacy business growth opportunities are involved. Represent Rite Aid at healthcare summits, conferences and events where applicable
• Lead and participate in meetings with Marketing and Legal to ensure all initiatives are compliant with federal and state regulations and provide appropriate professional pharmacy messages
• Interact with other departments company-wide to develop and implement plans/policies/procedures/initiatives to increase sales and EBITDA, prevent profit erosion, and promote clinical pharmacy services in our stores
• Collaborate with Health Dialog, RediClinic and Envision to explore opportunities to work together to offer additional healthcare offerings into the marketplace
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position directly supervises Manager, Rx Initiatives, , and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints
Experience / Requirements
• Ten (10) years' of experience in management and pharmacy operations required
• Or equivalent education in lieu of experience
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Pharmacy required.
• Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) PHARM.D. required
• Active Pharmacist license in good standing for the state in which one works required
• Other, Valid Immunization Certification required
