Oxford Life Insurance Company has an immediate opportunity for a Western Regional Director covering (AK, AZ, CA, CO, HI, ID, NM, NV, OR, TX, UT, WA, WY). The Regional Director will be accountable for Final Expense, Single Premium Life, Annuity & Medicare Supplement sales achieved by establishing new relationships and strengthening existing relationships with independent Personal Producing General Agents (PPGAs), Managing General Agents (MGAs) and Independent Marketing Organizations (IMOs). The Western Regional Director must live within the region. The RD will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Recruit new IMOs, MGAs, GAs and PPGAs to develop profitable sales growth by marketing the company’s product portfolio of Life, Annuity & Medicare Supplement products.
• Deliver seminars within local markets which serve to educate, PPGAs, MGAs and IMOs regarding Oxford Life’s vision, mission, values, products and services as well as the financial services industry in general.
• Provide field product and suitability training and other service and support.
• Field travel within a large territory to meet current distribution and recruit new IMOs and build new relationships.
• Provide input on new product design, and implementation strategies to help GAs and MGAs recruit, train, motivate, sell, service, incentivize and train producers within their agencies and hierarchies.
• Maintain a current understanding of local markets, identify applicable insurance marketing and product trends and gather and utilize competitive intelligence.
• Regularly communicate via telephone & webinars and personal visits (up to 50%) with producers in the Western Region.
• Implement cross-selling strategies when appropriate.
• Maintain and improve production goals by product line.
• Provide weekly field reports to the home office.
• Assist with the development of sales & marketing strategies.
• Assist with the development of a territory budget.
• Develop strong working relationship with home office staff.
• Enforce company rules and company values.
• Attend company conventions, sales events and industry events.
• Continue with self-development through professional industry recognized education and designation programs.
• Attend industry events.
Requirements:
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Must be able to work independently and as a team member
• PC literate-experience with e-mail package, Microsoft Office (Word – Excel – Power Point)
Education & Training
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of the insurance industry, including product, underwriting, competitors’ products and positioning.
• Strong management and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively with sales support staff to leverage your time and improve your effectiveness.
• 5 Years or more experience in Home Office and Field Insurance marketing and sales.
