Summary:
Directs the Supply Chain staff who are responsible for all direct purchasing and distribution functions in support of Boston Market restaurants and catering. This position is also responsible for overseeing the corporate QA function. Key additional duties include (1) looking for new and/or innovative ways to reduce costs or minimize cost increases and (2) working closely with R&D to develop new products and be primarily responsible for product reformulations/optimizations.
Essential Functions:
• Supervises Supply Chain staff (7 people).
• Sets direction/strategic plan for Supply Chain which is an enabler for marketing/research and development initiatives.
• Manages all activities related to the purchase of proteins.
• Analyzes all commodity markets related to the business.
• Takes part in all major/long-term purchasing and distribution commitments.
• Supervises the management of freight from suppliers to distribution centers.
• Oversees equipment purchasing (including smallwares) and major Repair & Maintenance activities.
• Responsible for energy management contracts/hedging.
• Support back of house restaurant systems with data admin and audits of distributor pricing.
• Participates in key corporate projects.
• Provides updates to senior management related to product prices/cost of goods.
• Makes the final decision on all purchasing and distribution commitments within authority level.
• Continues to evolve the QA function, including focus on improving our ingredient decks.
• Directs personnel development for staff including direct report reviews and career development.
• Ensures Supply Chain and Quality Assurance teams work cohesively with other departments.
• Maintains highest level of integrity.

• Works additional hours as needed.

• Travels as required, 10% of the time.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some additional hours may be required.
Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree related to business or supply chain or equivalent work experience.
• 10 years of experience in senior supply chain position.
Preferred Education and Experience:
• 10 years of experience in senior supply chain position in food service.
