GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Director of Organizational Safety and Security is responsible for promoting the Loss Prevention key objectives through ensuring the safety, security, and protection of company assets within the corporate environment. This position will effectively lead, manage and support the security and life safety program for the corporate offices to include physical security, fire and life safety, alarm response, access control, visitor’s control, CCTV, etc.
The Director role is responsible for the supervision of security personnel and the oversight of Fire/Life Safety systems, equipment and processes. The Director will lead, drive and promote effective crisis and incident management. The Director may also participate, as directed, in on-going company initiatives and independently communicate with associates at all levels of the organization. The Director will represent the Senior Director of Corporate Security and Life Safety as directed or in the absence of.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Mitigating Safety and Security Risk Through Preparedness and Response
• Lead and own all responsibilities related to Security, Fire Safety and Emergency Action Plans
• Lead efforts on the development and delivery of emergency response programs
• Develop tailored training and awareness materials as directed
• Identify and maintain exceptional 3rd party vendors
• Ensure that life safety systems and related equipment are fully functional
• Lead Fire/Life Safety efforts on behalf of the organization
• Maintain compliance and records as required by jurisdiction and code
• Provide/coordinate all emergency response training
• Responsible to ensure security personnel are trained and certified to effectively respond to emergencies
• Must be able to provide clear direction, information and assistance to all associates, guests and visitors
• Developing Great Teams and Partnerships
• Ensure that all floors have fire safety teams, including Fire Wardens, Deputy Fire Wardens, and Building Evacuation Team members
• Supervise security personnel to provide effective security for corporate facilities to include physical security, safety, alarm response, access control, visitor control and cctv
• Responsible for the selection, training, supervision and management of the Corporate Organizational Safety & Security associates
• Work with Buying Offices to ensure consistent physical security standards
• Identify and Recruit Top Talent for Guard teams and Corporate Organizational Safety & Security staff
• Fosters Effective Internal and External Communication through regular statuses with team and partners
• Drive Performance Management Culture
Maintaining Safe Environments
• Provide physical security and fire life safety expertise as needed
• Respond to current and emerging trends
• Develop and maintain budget for Fire/Life Safety initiatives/projects
• Participate/conduct fire drills as required
• Lead efforts to align all corporate sites on Fire Life Safety processes
Maintaining Secure Environments
• Provide effective security for the Corporate Offices to include executive protection, physical security, life/safety response, alarm response, access control, visitor control, CCTV, etc. to include all aspects of physical security and life safety.
• Performs regular audits of corporate and buying office to ensure consistent physical security and life safety expectations
• Develops action plans with partners to ensure execution and follow up of physical security gaps
• Develops and drives crisis management plans for Ross facilities, corporate facilities and buying offices

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
• Professional certification (CPP) a plus
• 7+ years of corporate security/life safety experience at leadership level
• Former Law Enforcement/Fire Department/leader level a plus
• Proficient in MS suite programs/Power Point/Excel/E-mail and internet
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Must be able to raise or lower objects weighing up to 25 lbs., from one level to another
Must be able to climb stairs, ramps or ladders occasionally during shift if needed
Must be able to respond appropriately during crisis events
Must be willing to travel as directed for assignment
Must be willing to work off hours and weekends as/if needed
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Corporate Safety and Security Function, Corporate Security or Loss Prevention Associates as assigned
