Position Summary
As a key leader on the Health Services team, the Senior Category Manager of
Merchandising and Buying has responsibility for category and vendor management, strategic planning, promotion strategy, merchandising and P&L oversight for
our Optical and Audiology businesses. This includes forecasting and attaining budgeted sales, gross margin and building market share. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in category management with the demonstrated ability to drive category sales and margin and achieve their financial plan.
Your key responsibilities include:
-Develop and implement 1-3 year category plans (e.g. optimal sku mix, marketing, promotions).
-Formulate and continually evaluate pricing
strategies with price point analysis and market bench marking ·
• Oversee development of marketing programs that maximize business results and long term customer loyalty
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and be accountable for day-to-day activities with suppliers; closely manage supplier performance including service levels and on-time delivery ·
• Identify business opportunities and risks by analyzing sales performance, inventory analysis, replenishment and industry trends including but not limited to:
• Maintaining inventory, inventory forecast, and discontinuations
-Conducting monthly product forecast product in collaboration with all vendor partners to meet business goals
-Managing discontinued and obsolete frame to allotted stock levels
• Conducting monthly in store inventory reporting/analysis
• Ensuring proper execution of returns, reconciliation of returns and warranties
• Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance
• Own repricing and markdown
Required Qualifications
7+ years of relevant work experience in merchandising, marketing, brand management, showing a progression of increasing responsibilities and leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and impact and influence at all levels
- Able to prioritize and deliver on multiple, concurrent business initiatives that have significant financial impact
- Retail merchandise buying experience ability to create strong floor sets and accurate documents in order to drive sales
- Demonstrated ability to manage a P&L with strong analytical and financial analysis
- Development of category and product strategy, store design, customer experience, and marketing/promotion planning
- Experience in optical retail merchandising
- Ability to build productive cross functional relationships at all levels of the organization as well as with suppliers and other external partners
Education
Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing or relevant field
