Associate Director, Strategic Projects will be responsible for driving top priority, cross-functional projects end-to-end for the Crate & Barrel organization. This position will partner with internal teams and external partners to develop and deliver project solutions. This position will be responsible for the successful execution of key projects across the organization, including both store and e-commerce channels, as well as other relevant functions such as marketing, merchandising and supply chain.
• Develop and lead all end to end project planning for strategic initiatives including defining scope and leading critical components of each project (ie. timelines, deliverables, communication cadence, solutions and execution )
• Lead the Development of key insights and ideation, providing strategic development of solutions for identified projects.
• Execute advanced data collection and analysis through the use of cross-functional data from merchandising, marketing and channel inputs for all strategic initiatives including short term merchandising installations.
• Lead competitive and market analysis where relevant.
• Facilitate problem solving sessions with key leadership and stakeholders for identified project.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration meetings with key stakeholders and operational teams to execute project efforts, including both initial project kick off and monitoring performance and assessment over length of project.
• Responsible for providing communication updates of project insights and approach across the organization.
Required Skills
• 5+ years retail merchandising experience
• Buying experience highly preferred (kitchen a plus)
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
• Possess a complete understanding of buying plans and processes.
• Ability to plan product assortments and promote merchandise internally and externally to support the company sales initiatives.
• Maintain an awareness of new trends and product ideas in order to develop and maintain a successful assortment plan for specific merchandising categories.
• Financial acumen related to buying and planning - evaluate inventory, gross margin and markdowns in order to manage financial goals of the product category and assortment.
• Good reading and written language skills (English)
