Position Summary
Be a crucial part of the Materials Management and Distribution functions. You’ll ensure the success of the mail order facilities as pharmaceutical products are delivered and appropriately inventoried and distributed within the facility. The Logistics Distribution Operations Senior Director is responsible for leading a team of salaried and non-exempt colleagues in our distribution centers. This includes directing the overall performance of the facility including operating to prescribed goals and budgets with a focus on colleague engagement, talent development and asset management. The incumbent will also provide support and input to senior management at the corporate level in the establishment of performance objectives and strategies to ensure the achievement of company forecasts while maintaining a high level of customer service to our stores. This opportunity resides in the Chemung NY Distribution Center that employs approximately 500
colleagues.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Directing & coordinating activities that relate to the efficient functioning of the facility
• Collaborate with your team to develop, and implement plans, procedures, programs, and strategies to enhance performance and support facility metrics
• Operate efficiently and control expenditures against approved budget goals
• Establish and maintain effective relationship with Field Store Operations
• Develop, implement, and manage various programs that enhance team building, succession planning and talent development
• Determine proper staffing levels based on the volume and forecast
• Utilize a variety of reports, summaries, and procedures to forecast weekly and monthly operational metrics
• Drive long term strategies, promoting leading edge solutions while maintaining focus on short term objectives
• Drive colleague engagement and diversity programs
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues throughout the network regarding impact on other areas when making decisions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years prior leadership experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree
• Prior logistics experience working in a pharmaceutical environment
• Familiarity with warehouse and labor management systems
• Continuous improvement /Six Sigma knowledge
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, proven ability to deliver at all levels
• Ability to analyze information effectively and make sound business decisions
• Proven ability to build high performance teams
• Proven ability to engage and inspire colleagues
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management System (WMS)
Education
Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required.
