The Director of Creative Design & Development- Fashion identifies key opportunities to drive the overall fashion business performance by leading and managing of the creative design and print design function. In this leadership position you will lead the design function for the portfolio of direct designed and sourced fashion brands across the enterprise.
Lead the fashion design strategies for all fashion design and sourced brands across QVC, QVCi and HSN. Create designs based on trend direction by brand and develop product and assortments that will deliver fresh relevant new concepts while meeting business needs to deliver the financial plan.
Lead the Creative Design and Print Design fashion team through the entire fashion design process and product review meetings ensuring teams are providing product ideas and meeting deadlines.
Job Description Details
Leadership and Strategy
• Lead, coach, develop and manage multiple fashion design teams.
• Lead and drive the design strategy that will deliver the financial plans for all internally designed and sourced brands.
• Lead the Fashion Design Team to execute and deliver unique designs, concepts and assortments for each brand across the enterprise.
• Design products that align with each brand’s positioning.
• Identify and lead trending business opportunities, deliver new concepts and seasonal trends. Partner with Buying leads to provide direction.
• Create a clear positioning for each brand, work with appropriate teams to develop creative briefs that communicate design aesthetic for each brand.
• Talent development, ensure the appropriate talent is placed and developed for roles within the organization.
Creative Design Process
• Lead the entire fashion design process from concept to pre-production.
• Lead the design team in developing new designer concepts, brand assortments and identifying trends in the market place.
• Manage the creation and development of relevant seasonal color and print direction for each designed brand.
• Lead and manage the team through the design and sourcing time and action calendar across the enterprise. Manage to all major milestones and product delivery dates.
• Work to build relationships and create alignment with external partners, external designers and personalities to achieve desired brand direction and product execution.
Design Budgets
• Responsible for managing the US design budgets for samples and operating supplies.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, or a related subject.
• 15+ years related experience, across multiple fashion categories, 10+ years of management experience.
• Strategic & Creative, forward thinking.
• Business analytical skills.
• Product expertise.
• Product Design experience and knowledge across multiple fashion classifications.
• Knowledge of garment sourcing and production.
• Fashion Business Knowledge.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to influence within and across enterprise complexity.
• Understanding of relevant design systems such as PLM, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and/or NedGraphics.
• Possess a deep understanding of the design process, fit, and styling.
• Sophisticated shopping knowledge of domestic and international markets.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
