Description
Directs enterprise strategy, implementation, and support of Business Intelligence solutions. Aligns key business performance indicators with analytical solutions that enable leaders to have actionable insight in managing the business. Oversees Business Intelligence projects, processes, products, and personnel. Provides analytical and predictive support of current and foreseeable business intelligence technology needs. Determines the best use of technology and appropriately procures resources to meet objectives. Plans and implements strategies, projects and work plans that deliver business value, efficiency, and on-going operation of Business Intelligence technologies.
1.Establishes strategies, roadmaps, prioritization and project initiatives to continuously improve development of the company's traditional analytics, predictive modeling, and Big Data discovery technologies.
2. Provides innovative thought leadership with relative retail industry use cases. Leverages state of the art Dashboards, Mobile, Big Data, Predictive, and BI technologies to deliver innovation within the business.
3. Directs and oversees Mobile BI initiatives for company. Engages business and technology teams on implementation and deployment of supporting hardware, network, software, security, policies and procedures.
4. Collaborates within Application Development, Program Management Organization, and Business leaders to define and build Business Intelligence solutions to leverage internal and external data sources that provide competitive insight to the business.
5. Facilitates and assists in the selection of implementation partners. Includes: RFP, Contract Negotiation, Staff Augmentation, Vendor Management, and Vendor Support.
6. Selects and implements systems, programming tools and systems products.
7. Leverages third-party support where appropriate to execute strategies.
8. Ensures schedules and service level agreements are met for both near real time and batch processing of Business Intelligence Technologies.
9. Ensures quality, precision and accuracy of analytical reporting technologies.
10. Oversees design and relational modeling of the company's enterprise data warehouse (leveraging Teradata database).
11. Oversees development of Extract/Transformation/Load (ETL) designs and development (using Datastage, application utilities and scripting languages)
12. Oversees dimensional modeling and development of abstracted analytical data constructs (Essbase cubes).
13. Directs design and development of published/burstable reports, dashboards, mobile technologies and scorecards (leveraging MicroStrategy or other leading BI technologies).
14. Directs development teams in the delivery of project objectives and goals. Establishes a clear understanding of success factors and clearly articulates the strategy and execution to deliver.
15. Identifies, communicates, and determines an approach for assumptions, constraints, and risks within a project.
16. Proactively assesses and provides leadership thought on technology changes and acquisitions.
17. Responsible for the successful cutover and implementation of technology into production environments. Establishes and oversees processes and documentation that support the delivery of consistent and predictable technology services.
18. Directs and manages IT services; provides feasibility studies, systems analysis and design, construction, implementation, testing, documentation, operation and evaluation of information systems.
19. Ensures new plans, policies, procedures, as well as transition/migration plans are consistently executed with consideration to goals and objectives.
20. Ensures compliance with IT regulatory standards including SOX, internal/external audits, governing policies, procedures and laws.
21. Manages direct reports, including staffing, training, development, performance assessment, and disciplinary actions and oversees people management activities for respective development teams.
22. Oversees implementation of best practices tool sets for monitoring, alerting, ticketing, and escalation. Assists in the design and implementation of measures to determine effectiveness of business support.
23. Maintains an updated inventory of Business Intelligence technologies, and manages a proactive upgrade process
24. Ensures infrastructural scalability, viability, support and administration (in partnership with IT Operations & Infrastructure team).
Qualifications
1. Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related management field is required. Masters Degree in Information Sciences or Business Administration is preferred.
2. Minimum of ten years of experience in managing Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence technology projects and applications; including a minimum of five years leadership experience managing complex teams.
3. Industry knowledge and expertise with leading Business Intelligence Technologies such as: Teradata, Oracle, Essbase, SAP HANA, Big Data Solutions, MicroStrategy, Business Objects, DataStage, Informatica.
4. Knowledge and application of development and management principles, e.g., PMP, ITIL, Agile, Waterfall required.
5. Strong negotiating and vendor contract management skills required.
6. Advanced communication, critical thinking, logic, and problem solving skills including the ability to rationalize complex, multi-faceted problems into smaller, manageable issues.
