DIRECTOR, MARKETING – Owned Brands – Hardlines, F+B, Essentials, Seasonal
Help shape one of the world's strongest brands. Be responsible for the development of the marketing strategy for Target Brand initiatives. Create strategies and associated marketing plans to drive awareness, equity and sales for the Target brand.
Provides a deep-level of marketing expertise to ensure relevance and competitive advantage. Masterfully coordinates a group of cross-functional internal and external partners (ranging from business partners to marketing channel owners to creative agencies to direct reports) to deliver seamless work that inspires the guest to take action.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Leads the translation of business problems and guest insights into an actionable marketing strategy & oversees team that develops tactical plans.
• Leads a team of 2-4 Marketing Sr. Managers, Managers and/or Project Managers supporting multiple initiatives. Coaches, develops and inspires team to achieve established goals for the business, the marketing organization and the team.
• Leverages tools, resources and investments effectively & efficiently to drive business & financial goals with responsibility for a multi-million dollar budget.
• Owner of multiple cross-divisional relationships; Marketing area of excellence owner of cross-pyramid relationships.
• Leads cross-functional marketing relationships to create holistic, seamless and effective multi-channel work, including but not limited to Guest Insights, Media, Finance, ISM, Packaging, Promo/IM, Publicity, Events, Owned Brands, Target.com Presentation, Site Marketing, Digital channel owners, Creative buying, Print buying, Circular and multiple creative agency partners.
• Represents Marketing with key external business partners.
• Gives constructive, actionable and inspiring creative feedback.
• Cultivates strong partnerships both internally and externally to support short-term and long-term objectives
• Understands & balances guest needs, Target’s brand equity and business priorities to maximize marketing effectiveness.
REQUIREMENTS
• College degree required
• Marketing emphasis or major preferred
• Proven track record of driving successful strategic marketing strategy and execution instrumental to enterprise success
• 12+ years of related work experience; agency or marketing experience preferred
• Ability to connect dots across multiple inputs including various business opportunities, requests, sources of insight, industry/ media trends and intuition/ experience
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Tenacity and courage to push constantly to make the work better and be the voice of the guest and business
• A desire to collaboratively solve problems
• Strong creative acumen and passion for developing creative that retains Target’s competitive edge in the market
• Ability to inspire, and drive confidence with a range of partners
• Personally inspired by both the art and science of marketing
• Team leadership and supervising experience
