Job Description
General Function
Strategic planning, direction and overall performance of the replenishment function into all distribution centers, both regional and centralized, for all categories and vendors. Optimize replenishment process by providing analysis to support efficient and effective replenishment for all active items in the supply chain network. Support category inventory plans and sales initiatives through collaboration with vendors and Merchandising. This role is a senior level role in the department and will have direct reports at the Manager and Supervisor level.
Management Scope
Direct reports include Supply Chain Replenishment Managers, Inventory Planners, & Inventory Analysts.
Duties and responsibilities
• Manage all item and vendor replenishment parameters to ensure the category business goals are met
• Guide the optimization of the replenishment process for all items within the supply chain network through the regional and centralized distribution network
• Direct communication of vendor/category inventory plans to the Distribution Centers to ensure smooth execution to the stores
• Delegates responsibilities to the Planning Analyst and Supply Chain Replenishment Managers to provide select vendors with purchase projections to aide in the improvement of Purchase Order fill rates and to foster a collaborative partnership with critical vendors
• Work with cross functional departments to develop new and progressive tools to improve the identification, communication and execution of PO Management and Seasonal planning processes
• Participate in the management of the Vendor Support Fund process with Finance and Merchandising to ensure all attainable discounts are achieved
• Review and sign-off on special buy orders to ensure optimization of Pep Boys inventory investment
• Develop direct reports through coaching and counseling
• Lead vendor collaboration initiatives
• Develops the budget, ensures adherence to the budget, and takes corrective action as required.
• Directs efforts to improve profitability through cost reduction, cost avoidance, and process improvement
• Manages and monitors key performance metrics and ensures operational effectiveness.
• Responsible for supply chain vendor compliance through our delivery process and vendor contacts
• Lead the implementation of Manhattan integration project.
Position requirements
4-year degree in related field, emphasis on Finance or Supply Chain.
Minimum 5 years experience in replenishment, inventory management or supply chain; retail experience a plus
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize projects to meet and exceed company business goals.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Familiarity with SQL and relational databases along with experience using BI, Manhattan DFIO, JDA -- E3 AWR, and SAP are a plus
SKILLS:
• Comprehensive knowledge of business operations and strategic planning skills required.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, mathematical, computer, and organizational skills required.
• Skilled in using Forecasting tools, algorithms and other methodologies as predictors of customer demand.
• Ability to set and analyze budgets and the business plan
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Successful track record in managing the effective deployment of resources, systems and personnel to enable the achievement of organizational objectives and support the overall growth of the company.
• Extensive negotiation and human relations skills are required.
MISCELLANEOUS:
• Position will require approximately 10-20% travel.
