Job Description Details
The IT Communications and Training Leader (Director) is responsible for defining, shaping and executing IT Communications and Training strategies and plans focused on improving team member engagement through leadership communications and improving IT’s relationship with the business through transparency and transparency.
• Responsible for internal communications (IT to IT, IT to the business) as well as external communications, in collaboration with Corporate Communications, leadership communications and development, crisis communications and IT Training.
• Provides leadership communications counsel to IT SMT.
• Responsible for development and execution of an effective IT internal communications strategy that includes messaging and planning aimed at improving engagement for all IT team members including newsletter, Town Halls, roundtables with CIO, organizational changes, etc.
• Works closely with the IT Security Leadership team to develop and execute a communications and training plan specifically geared towards raising awareness of security & compliance issues, challenges and opportunities across the enterprise including SOX Compliance, PCI, Cyber Security Awareness Month and more.
• Works closely with IT Leadership and Corporate Communications on crisis communications, as needed.
• Responsible for leadership development with particular focus on monthly 90 minute sessions entitled Leader to Leader Development Series, which includes curriculum development (in collaboration with corporate Learning & Development), planning, and execution.
• Works closely with HR Business Partner on organizational issues that impact IT and/or the business. Amplification of HR messaging, including annual processes such as Performance and Development Reviews, and changes to IT’s People Strategy, including the need for a comprehensive, global skills inventory.
• Leads two direct reports including development coaching and mentoring in Communications, Training and leadership.
• Works closely with IT Director Team on leadership development and engagement.
Requirements:
• Typical candidates will possess 1O+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree of equivalent. Advanced degree highly desirable.
• Experience with adult learning concepts and design; facilitation skills and experience developing others in training delivery
• Experience in a broad range of communication strategies and execution, particular emphasis on the ability to communicate technical information to both technically savvy teams and non-technical teams.
Critical Skills
• Experience in ecommerce, retail, consumer and/or the media industries strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership skills that mirror QVC’s Leadership Competencies.
• Knowledge of current Information Technology best practices preferred.
• Knowledge and experience of Agile Transformation(s) preferred.
• Expertise consulting and preparing executive internal and external communications required.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate a team of direct reports.
• Ability to build strong relationships within the Technology team and across the enterprise.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability building and maintaining a global internal communications strategy including relevant tactics such as Town Hall, Leadership Tools, etc.
• Experience managing a global budget.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams in order to achieve a goal.
