Company Description:
The Director of Sales is responsible for all business activities as it relates to Sales Training and Implementation of Core-Mark’s Strategic Initiatives. They will work with Sales Management, Marketing, and other internal customers to develop and support the focus on current sales concepts, programs, and organize and deliver the training requirements needed to support the current sales focus.
• Provide new ideas to gain market share and grow the Company’s sales and profits.
• Support, develop and deploy strategies and tactics to assist Division’s in the execution of their business plans.
• Interpret and deploy overall sales and strategic plans.
• Develop and deploy comprehensive training materials.
• Develop, update and use formal training process for new and existing General Sales Managers.
• Conduct interactive training sessions to include webinars, conference calls, divisional sales meetings and regional/ companywide events.
• Maintain and develop sales oriented marketing materials to include new customer presentations, existing customer business reviews, strategic initiative presentations and Sales Marketing book materials.
• Support trade and customer events to include value added meetings and/ or presentations.
• Develop and provide monthly tracking of the Company’s performance related to all strategic activity.
• Assist divisions with key initiatives.
• Collaborate with SVP for region specific needs.
• Identify internal talent for future succession planning.
• Maintain updated versions of all sales materials on SharePoint.
• Working knowledge and use of the Company’s internal systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• 5+ years’ experience in a management level or above in the convenience, grocery, food service, retail or wholesale industry.
• 5+ years’ experience designing and implementing sales strategies and programs.
• Excellent presentation and training facilitation skills.
• Strong project management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and to translate strategy into a tactical plan that can be implemented to achieve a long term vision.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment, to give and receive input, and consider a broad range of perspectives and incorporate such perspectives in making decisions.
• Ability to harness critical thinking skills, communication skills and build credibility to influence others.
• Ability to create and maintain strong relationships with internal associates, external clients, and vendor.
• Strong influencing, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent knowledge of convenience, grocery, food service, retail or wholesale industry.
• Ability to manage multiple projects.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Travel up to 50%
Key Metrics:
• Achievement of Company goals in sales, gross profit, core strategies, key initiatives and program execution.
• Achievement of annual MBO’s related to above or different.
Education required:
• BS or BA in Business Administration or related field experience.
