The Williams-Sonoma Technology organization is seeking an energetic and talented Integration Engineering Director to lead our data integration team. In this role, you are critically involved in all systems data movement, defining the future direction of data integrations and data movement. At Williams-Sonoma we are implementing a range technologies to support our 8 amazing brands -- Williams-Sonoma, Williams-Sonoma Home, West Elm, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, Pottery Barn Teen, Rejuvenation and Mark and Graham.
As the Integration Engineering Director you'll help set the data integration direction for the company. You lead a team with scrum teams engaged in providing multiple capabilities across a variety of technologies and initiatives, and develop processes and proceedures to ensure stable, scalable intatrgation architectures to support the Company's business.
You will be an integral member of the Architecture leadership team, participating in decisions that shape the future of technology in the company. You will also be a strong voice in the larger WSI Technology organization helping to build a world class organization. Key Job Functions
• Be a catalyst for change and provide strong architecture and technology leadership.
• Participate in enterprise technology strategy and cross-domain architecture reviews.
• Lead the team to develop guiding principles, reference architectures, technology landscapes, standards, best practices and roadmaps that support business priorities.
• Establish application integration and SOA strategies across SaaS and on premise COTS and in-house developed applications.
• Lead the team to leverage and continuously improve enterprise integration platforms.
• Develop strategies for workflow, rules and orchestration.
• Develop strategies for integration management and governance.
• Provide technical leadership regarding integration impact across business, information, application, technical and security architectures.
• Ensure reference architectures, technology stacks, standards and processes meet security and regulatory requirements.
• Guide projects to follow reference architectures, strategic technology stacks and standards and best practices. Develop plans to migrate non-standard solutions and manage exceptions.
• Participate in high-level project estimation, system design, modeling, and solution design reviews.
• Stay current on technologies, technology trends and directions, and best practices. Evaluate potential technologies for use within the enterprise.
• Mature the Enterprise Architecture practice.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements
• Enterprise Application Integration and SOA Architecture experience in a large organization.
• Understanding of integration architectures for on premise, highly available systems; and SAAS; and hybrid cloud.
• Experience with enterprise workflow, rules and orchestration technologies.
• Strong experience establishing EAI technologies. Experience with, and a deep understanding of the pro and cons of technologies like JMS, MQ, TIBCO, Mulesoft, Kafka, BOOMI or other ESB/Integration methods is a requirement.
• Understanding of Business Continuity and DR strategies.
• Information Security experience a plus.
• Experience maturing SDLC principles, processes and practices.
• Broad IT industry experience and broad IT leadership experience.
• Retail systems experience a strong plus.
• Proven track record of influencing change and leading strategic enterprise IT initiatives to achieve business objectives.
• Ability to cultivate a shared vision, articulate clear business objectives and strategy, and align the organization to achieve them.
• Demonstrated excellence in concise and clear verbal and written communication at all organizational levels.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and foster collaboration.
• Ability to understand and synthesize complex technical details into coherent technical strategy and solution.
Additional Requirements
• Bachelors degree -- or foreign equivalent -- in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or 10 years of progressively-responsible experience in software development
• Experience in Supply Chain / Retail / eCommerce
• 10+ years experience in software development and delivery
• 5+ years of team leadership experience in a dynamic delivery technology organization
