Job Description
The Shop Your Way Business Development Director is responsible for growing the reach, relevance, and penetration of our ecosystem through the expansion of our offering to partners. This individual will establish ownership and expertise in key consumer categories/verticals, and forge partnerships within those assigned. The Business Development Director will lead the partnership development process and relationship from post origination through closing. Upon closing, they will collaborate with the implementation team for a successful handoff and launch. This professional is charged with a range of high performance skills, including defining strategy, prospecting, developing, cultivating, negotiating, closing, and on-boarding new clients.
This professional will report to the Head of Partnerships. This position will monitor industry developments and competitors’ actions, and proactively recommend action plans. This position will serve as a primary business point of contact and overall project manager and integration owner for new business lines and service offerings.
Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements
What you’ll do:
• Lead the planning and development of industry specific partnership opportunities and selling strategies
• Consistently monitor markets and businesses, serving as team expert of key markets
• On individual deals, drive the entire sales process from post origination, including but not limited to: developing the presentation strategy and overall proposal, pitching directly to the prospect, negotiating term sheets and contracts, managing internal and external contract flow, and serving as the key relationship manager during the integration phase
• Work with internal team members to develop product roadmaps to integrate and launch partnership programs
• Build relationships with government and non-profit groups that are part of the rebuilding effort
• Externalize SYW products to new businesses
• Lead the planning and development of industry specific partnership opportunities and selling strategies
• Alongside the team, perform qualitative and quantitative analysis to evaluate and recommend specific partnership plays
• Work with internal team members to develop product roadmaps to integrate and launch partnership programs
What you’ll need:
• Minimum of 10 yrs relevant work experience in B2B sales & marketing (partnership selling and consultative enterprise selling a strong plus)
• Loyalty marketing/sales experience
• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong proven abilities managing and implementing sales strategies, cultivating prospects, and closing
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with ability to clearly articulate goals/objectives/vision to C-Level Executives in major industries.
• Ability to champion needs cross functionally and influence where necessary (across various levels of the organization)
• Solid analytical and critical thinking ability
• Creativity to develop innovative marketing and sales strategies and promotional programs
