About the Team
Pottery Barn is seeking a Director, In-Store Graphics to drive all creative assets and manage the signage team for our retail channel. Reporting to the Vice President, Visual Merchandising, the ideal candidate will be a print design and typography fanatic, a strong graphic designer and a creative leader with proven track record of team management. The position will oversee all in-store collateral which includes, but is not limited to, core/evergreen signage, promotional signage and seasonal/specialty signage for the brand. The candidate must be self-motivated, highly organized, used to working in a very fast-paced environment and flexible to support business needs as they change.
About the Role
The Director, In-Store Graphics will support and influence the Pottery Barn overall creative strategy and help us create a look and feel for our seasonal concepts that will inspire our customers and tell our compelling stories in a cohesive manner. Responsible for all stages of creative including concept, design and eventual roll out to the stores for all seasons. Oversees the quality of the work, pitch in on jobs as necessary and maintain consistent and unique visuals that reinforce and enhance the brand.

• Manage all creative development for our retail store environment.
• Oversee the print design, performance and process of the design team to ensure on time and high-quality deliverables.
• Work with cross functional teams to develop overall seasonal creative concepts.
• Working with our team of designers and project managers to create engaging visual designs for our collateral and retail presence that consistently communicates and embodies the brand.
• Conduct regular analysis of key competitor and retail leaders for best practices.
• Partner with visual merchandising and merchant team to deliver compelling merchandising content to achieve business goals.
• Manage multiple projects, timelines and logistics for both individual contributions and those of the print design team.
• Serve as a leader within the Signage Team.
• Interpret data and translate business strategy into creative strategy, make recommendations to senior management.
• Stay current on all new technologies and market developments.
• Work within larger brand guidelines, while interpreting for print/in-store collateral.
• Strong business acumen is necessary to oversee and manage annual budget for the department.

• Detail oriented with a proven track record for producing consistent, clean graphics and layouts in a retail channel.
• Strong business and operational senses; able to balance and address conflicting needs and timelines of multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.

• Possess exceptional design skills.
• In depth knowledge of production and creative processes.
• Understanding of business needs.
• BA/BS or BFA in a related field of study.
• 10+ years of experience designing, creating, and producing direct channel print material.
• Extensive print experience for retail.
• Should be able to show depth of experience in layout, typography, design, and flow.
• Home Furnishings, Fashion, or Luxury brand experience a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Technical Competencies required:
• Must have an in-depth knowledge of standard digital design applications such as the Adobe Creative Suite.
