Position Summary
CVS Health has a dynamic opportunity for a Senior Director Finance PBM Process Improvement to join our dedicated team. The Sr. Director of Finance PBM Process Improvement will be responsible for creating and leading a cross-functional team of motivated, high performing Finance colleagues with a diverse background in order to drive improvements to Finance operations across the PBM.
The Finance Process improvement team will:
• Serve as a shared service to develop best in class Finance processes that align across the business.
• Improve quality and lower TAT’s.
• Strengthen controls and reduce audit risk.
• Eliminate inefficiencies and drive new savings opportunities.
• Deepen the knowledge of all inputs and outputs.
• Understand the end-to end impacts of our processes.
As a senior leader within one of the world’s largest healthcare organizations, the Sr. Director will be expected to model professionalism, innovation, and initiative, and deliver strong outcomes in all areas on a consistent basis. This is a broad
and challenging role which requires oversight of technical complexities within our PBM business, deep familiarity with Finance processes, and understanding of the Medicare Part D model.
Responsibilities will include:
• Actively develop staff, ensuring accountability for results. Recruit and retain high performers. Maintain team structure in alignment with business needs. Develop departmental budget.
• Establish effective relationships with senior leaders through the organization and develop priorities based on business needs.
• Create and oversee a framework for end to end project management.
• Balance a high workload of multiple priorities autonomously. Focus limited business and IT resources on areas of greatest impact. Set strategic annual goals and follow through to deliver real and measurable results.
• Lead the team to diagnose and resolve complex business challenges
• Develop partnerships with leadership and key resources from each team to identify roadblocks, process and operational gaps, and control weaknesses and inefficiencies.
• Think strategically and tactically to personally devise solutions to achieve higher accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.
• Build a cross-functional team and use project management tools and methodology to drive the solution to implementation. Adapt approach based on changing facts on the ground.
• Identify KPI’s and implement continuous monitoring to assess solution effectiveness.
• Make decisions around systems and vendors, monitor progress of project activity, and partner effectively with IT to ensure systems are aligned to business needs.
• Successfully transition any ongoing process controls, P&Ps, reporting, and system processes to business teams to ensure ongoing effectiveness once PI team has disengaged.
Required Qualifications
· Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in Finance or Operations within a large corporate environment.
· Knowledge of accounting principles such as GAAP, FP&A, A/R management, revenue cycle, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
· Leadership experience in Finance or Operations in Medicare, Medicaid, or another highly regulated healthcare environment.
· Six Sigma Black Belt, LEAN, or related Process Improvement certification.
· Strong analytical abilities such as VBA, macros, pivot tables, SQL, etc.
· Existing subject matter expertise with some areas of responsibility such as Accounting, Claims Adjudication Systems, pharmacy networks, etc.
· Proficiency with standard analysis tools such as Access or Excel, financial systems such as SAP/Oracle, and project management tools such as MS Project.
· MBA or CPA.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree required.
