Job Description Details
As Director of Enterprise Architecture you will act as Chief Architect supporting all functional domains, technical domains, and business units, addressing end-to-end solutions and identifying opportunities to shape the future of the business through technology. Along with a team of 3 to 5 Enterprise Architects, you will establish & oversee the practices whereby our "to be" technology architecture is defined and periodically amended & extended, at several levels:
• Enterprise architecture: The conceptual blueprint whereby IT will meet the medium- to long-term needs of the business í Overall structure, logical components, and the logical interrelationships among those components
• Domain-level architecture: The subject area-level blueprints that guide development of new application, infrastructure & security solutions
• Integration architecture: The methods, means & conventions by which we integrate modular systems & data to compose larger solutions
Critically, the Chief Architect will engage with key leaders across all global functions (Interactive Customer Experience, Merchandising, Operations and New Ventures) and business units (QVC, HSN, Zulily, and Cornerstone) and seek to understand both current capability gaps and future business needs. By combining this insight with a broad understanding of technology, this leader will architect and design solutions that are strategic for the business and build on the latest technologies and patterns. Utilizing in-depth knowledge of infrastructure, open source technologies and software engineering, this leader will develop the strategy, achieve business and engineering buy-in, and monitor execution toward the target architecture.
Qualifications:
• 15+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science
• MS/MBA highly desired
