Overview
This position will support the Corporate Controller and other Finance leaders to define and execute the vision for long-term finance transformation projects including:
• Driving the execution of the Finance Transformation program road-map consisting of cross-functional activities/projects, maintaining activities and projects associated with the transformation, and driving execution milestone deliverables with adherence to budget and quality measures including driving a new ERP system implementation
• Coordinating finance impacts with other initiatives to ensure alignment of the transformation road-map
• Developing frameworks, approach, and methodology leading practices. Support the planning and implementation of processes/leading practices to guide financial systems and solution delivery, including service level agreements and KPIs.
• Developing and implementing a more robust project management capability within the Finance function that actively supports execution of pre-defined project schedules and budgets.
• Strong program management and organizational skills. Ability to build relationships with professionals at all levels within an organization and become a trusted business partner.
• Acting as a challenger to conventional methods to drive change towards strategic transformation. Out of the box thinker and influencer of the organization’s executives to sell and drive initiatives.direct responsibility for operation of financial systems including process and controls and master data management; and
• Other duties as needed.
Essential Functions
• Engage Finance & Accounting (F&A) leadership in the execution of Finance Transformation initiatives in support of our Financial Systems roadmap, with a focus on building a foundation for automation, efficiency and scalability. Focus on streamlining processes, improving customer satisfaction, and reducing the cost of service delivery and/or build scalability. Develops and implements robust metrics and measures. Evaluates, recommends and implements the right supporting technologies. Actively supports change management efforts.
• Provide leadership and direction to F&A team members to ensure the timely execution of projects. Engages project leaders and subject-matter experts in evaluation of solution alternatives (including requests for proposal) and ensures sound business case methods are followed. Reviews and approves project budgets and schedules. Monitors project schedules and budgets and identifies and removes challenges/barriers to progress or change. Collaborates with IT/other departments to execute projects. Escalates issues to project sponsors.
• Direct oversight of Financial Systems operations including master data management, financial close activities and implementing/maintaining effective internal controls over financial reporting and systems.
• Department oversight, leadership, coaching, alignment, etc. Actively supports development of self and others.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements
• 10+ years progressive experience in consulting, business process or similar role with a F500 company and/or consulting organization. Bachelors of Finance or Accounting (or similar field). Strong foundation in finance and accounting process, including service delivery options.
• At least 5 years project management experience, with ability to influence across all levels and experience working in a rapidly changing environment. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and conflicting priorities. Project Management certification a plus.
• Effective verbal and written communications, including active listening skills, problem solving skills and presentation skills. Demonstrate the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently, with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment. Ability to maintain composure under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment that requires critical thinking and strong analytical skills. Experience implementing an ERP/Accounting System. Proficient in PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, and One Note.
