Crate and Barrel is America’s most exciting housewares specialty retailer with 100+ locations and over 6,500 associates nationwide. We are seeking an experienced, committed and enthusiastic professional to join our Human Resources department, as a Director, Talent Acquisition, located in our Northbrook, Illinois corporate offices.
• Build, lead and develop a Talent Acquisition center of excellence through creation of a recruiting and sourcing strategy aligned to the company’s strategic priorities and annual goals.
• Communicate and maintain the employee value proposition and brand that will attract and retain a high performing workforce.
• Guide team regarding candidate attributes that reinforce company culture, and in turn, minimize attrition.
• Manage a team of talent acquisition leaders, recruiters and coordinate high level recruitment needs with Senior Executive team.
• Manage and leverage key relationships with talent acquisition partners including external search, The Otto Group and vendor partnerships for website and applicant tracking system.
• Responsible for talent acquisition reporting, trend analysis and reporting of metrics. Share recommendations with HRBPs and hiring managers consistently.
• Partner with HRBPs to establish recruiting related HR practices that support succession management, build external bench, and support Crate and Barrels growth plans.
• Build talent acquisition capability, processes, and systems across the company.
• Manage the recruiting budget and expenses.
• Manage all aspects of performance and development of direct reports to encourage professional growth.
Required Skills
• 7 + years recruitment or talent acquisition experience with relevant leadership experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field; Master’s degree preferred
• Progressive Human Resources management experience and knowledge of the retail environment
• Experience implementing new Applicant Tracking System (ATS), preferred
• Demonstrated strategic thinking skills and experience in building sourcing and recruitment strategies
• Successful track record in leading or managing cross-functional initiatives related to Talent Acquisition strategies or process implementation
• Experience in large scale change management initiatives
• Advanced analytical skills to assess a variety of metrics to drive strategy development and execution
• Strong collaboration and alignment skills with the ability to communicate vision and gain alignment with senior management, both internally and externally
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to effectively translate complex ideas and tailor key messages to multiple audiences
• Strong goal orientated leadership skills with exhibited ability to prioritize and operate in an ever-changing environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google platform
• Excellent reading, written and verbal language skills (English)
