Overview
As the Vice President Creative you will be a key thought leader who leads and articulates brand, messaging and creative strategies for Pier 1 Imports across all customer touchpoints (digital, social, direct marketing, loyalty, store experience, etc.) and across all mediums (social, digital, print, eyc.). You will partner with our creative agency Droga 5 to bring new branding to life. You will be responsible for driving brand awareness and growth and building brand value by ensuring the consistency of message and creative applications of the brand. You will use consumer insights, research, testing and data to drive decision making.
Duties & Responsibilities
Some of your responsibilities will be to:
• Increase name recognition and overall brand awareness of Pier 1 Imports by leading brand efforts (strategy, implementation and measurement) that are aligned with organizational objectives.
• In collaboration with the other members of marketing leadership, designs strategic plans for driving new business to maximize total organizational results including sales, traffic and customer acquisition.
• Creates and implements a brand building platform which includes a story framework, archetype and visual identity system designed to support our value proposition and to be consistently delivered.
• Leads writing, design, media and print production in developing strategies to meet the creative services needs of the organization and develops and supports Pier 1 imports’ brand.
• Leads team of brand subject matter experts who develop brand and messaging strategies and provides consultation on our brand and messages to internal stakeholders that protects and perpetuates Pier 1 Imports’ brand building platform
• Maintains strong internal and field partnerships in order to ensure the organization’s brand is effective in all channels
• This person will recruit, lead and develop the Creative teams.
Education & Experience
To be considered you must have:
• Minimum of 10 years of leading creative for an national omni-channel retailer, consumer products or digital company or with a major agency working on those clients
• Strong creative instincts balanced with very solid strategic and analytical capabilities including a proven track record in brand positioning/re-positioning.
• Demonstrated background in marketing analytics and using data to drive decision making.
• Strong background in directing photo shoots, website marketing/advertising and experience in various forms of traditional and digital media and financial creativity in leveraging marketing rsources and dollars.
• Demonstrated experience being a credible partner within a senior leadership team; able to build relationships with other functional leaders and facilitate a seamless strategy and exceptional leadership capabilities balanced by the ability to play effectively on a team.
• High taste level and sense of humor.
