Position Summary
The integrated Marketing Planning role is a key role within our front store marketing team that helps ensure our communications and marketing strategies engage shoppers at the right moment, with the right message across the entire, integrated path to purchase.
This role will be responsible for ensuring marketing vehicles and messages are prioritized against business deliverables (size of prize) and shopper needs across the entire path to purchase. They will facilitate a marketing planning process across our front store business starting at the annual budget season working with finance, marketing, and front store teams to develop a framework for prioritization and channel activation of all initiatives. They will then work, in partnership, with marketing strategy leads and the delivery teams to ensure plans come to life across channels as planned.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
·Facilitates the development of a total front store marketing planning process weighing both business and shopper needs.
·Collaboratively facilitates the annual marketing planning process owning the delivery of an aligned marketing plan.
·Collaboratively facilitates quarterly checkpoint discussions during the forecast update process to ensure the marketing plan continues to deliver on business objectives and shopper needs.
·Develops an approach to partner with key marketing stakeholders to deliver an integrated omni-channel experience for shoppers.
·Reviews cross-channel communications to ensure consistency.
·Acts as the final checkpoint to ensure the retail business speaks to the shopper in one integrated voice, rooted in our brand voice and delivering on our brand promise.
·Facilitates planning and prioritization discussions with key stakeholders across owned, earned, and paid channels including: marketing, advertising, digital, media, social, print (circular), and public relations ensuring prioritized, integrated plans.
• Facilitates a seasonal audit process to identify and adjust plans based on competitive activity and shifts in shopper behavior.
·Partners with front store merchant partners to facilitate an evolved major event planning process rooted in shopper needs with integrated consumer communication.
·Utilizes customer insights to proactively monitor customer behavior and when necessary proactively identifies opportunities.
·Manages and develops direct reports.
·Travel required: up to 20%.
Required Qualifications
·6 or greater years of marketing experience with a strong foundation of business, retailer, and consumer understanding.
·3 or greater years cross-functional leadership experience.
·3 or greater years of marketing planning or agency planner role experience.
·2 or greater years of experience with financial analytics including proficient use of syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI, etc).
Preferred Qualifications
·Proven ability to collaborate, impact and influence senior leaders and peers within a large matrixed organization.
·Naturally curious individual who proactively seeks out solutions to current problems or those not yet identified.
·Self-motivated, high capacity individual who can function and win in a demanding, performance-driven environment.
·Excellent communication skills that can be effectively articulated in both written and oral forms across a diverse audience base.
·Creative problem solver who can incorporate new learnings into existing plans and act decisively
and independently.
·Strong PC knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Education
Bachelor’s degree required with a focus in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field required. MBA preferred.
