Job Description
The Director, Content oversees the creating, writing, editing and loading of editorial content across Sears Holdings experiences. This position strives to own the future of integrated retail, partner with expert teams and stakeholders and deliver results that entertain, inform and/or persuade customers to take action. This position dissects digital challenges as varied as revising messages across the purchase path and helping launch new brands. This position leads efforts to create and curate new content proactively while being aware of best practices regarding areas such as SEO. This position sets and maintains the tone and voice of each project and be looked at as an expert regarding any part of the content creation/planning process. This position manages the development of content strategy and is involved in content planning on all levels, including writing, editing, proofing and loading. This position serves both BU and OBU stakeholders and is looked to as an expert regarding the creation and maintenance of editorial copy. This position plans content through the creation of content calendars, communicates with business partners regarding the content creation process and serves as the go-to team regarding anything from editing/proofing to loading to writing.
Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
• Develops and supports editorial solutions to delight and inspire customers
• Leads new business pitches/requests and initial content discussions
• Acquires new, relevant and engaging content to support our members by helping them solve problems and get things done, leaving them with a ‘Wow’ experience
• Collaborates with UX/Product/Engineering teams to ensure requirements for editorial projects are clear
• Champions editorial content across SHC, making sure to involve both BU and OBU stakeholders
• Ensures overall editorial team has streamlined processes and goals that take content from conceptualization to creation to implementation seamlessly
• Performs supervisory functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance appraisals and coaching and developing associates.
Job Requirements:
• BS/BA degree in related field required or equivalent professional work related experience.
• 10+ years related professional experience
