You will be a key part of the enterprise PMO and work closely with joint Marketing + ecommerce Technology team that is responsible for conceptualizing, designing and implementing the customer experience and marketing data innovations that drive Williams-Sonoma Inc.'s industry leading digital business. About the Role
This critical Director of Project management PMO will be focused on a number of key areas for WSI digital -- Personalization, SEO, Testing, Mobile, Site Optimization and other cross brand cross channel initiatives etc. You'll lead from the front, inspiring and supporting our project management team as they work closely with their technology peers and business partners to bring some highly valuable and complex projects to production. These team runs predominantly on Scrum methodology. You will lead, manage, coach, and mentor project managers / scrum masters as well as establish, adopt, and enhance processes, practices, tools and standards required to run a highly effective and agile project delivery organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Hire, train, lead, motivate, coach, and manage a high-performing team of project managers/ scrum masters/ scrum coaches.
• Be the Agile evangelist in the organization leading the agile transformation especially in the non-ecommerce areas.
• Oversee, track and control project finances and maximize financial efficiency.
• Support resource managers as they strive to optimize overall resource planning and utilization across multiple projects and teams.
• Ensure consistency of project management best practices
• Work with project team to achieve high levels of business partner satisfaction
• Contribute and help establish, adopt, and enhance effective processes, practices, tools, and standards set up by the enterprise PMO functions
• Track and report on key project management metrics related to business impact, utilization, throughput, effort, quality and risk
• Coach, advise and drive the adoption of project tools, processes and methodologies to assure that projects are able to achieve a successful outcome
• Ensure project managers are adequately evaluating probability and impact of risk, develop and implement quality and risk management plans for minimizing impact on project/program objectives and deliverables, and effectively manage project/program budget towards expected ROI goals
• Leads project reviews for key projects
• Contribute to roadmap planning efforts through project plan, work estimates, and schedule development for proposals along with providing project management content for RFP responses

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of relevant experience in technology organizations
• Master level skills in working within Scrum or other Agile environments
• You have experience in multi-channel retail or e-commerce.
• Ability to interface with business as well as IT/technical teams
• Strong interpersonal skills/team player and demonstrated ability to work with various teams harmoniously while keeping project releases on time and on budget
• Strong drive towards execution; can-do type of person
• Knowledge of web site development technology and project management as a discipline
• eCommerce or comparable experience is a must.
• You have stellar communication skills and an uncanny ability to lead and influence others.
• You care about the quality of your work and that is evident in all that you do.
• You have a Bachelor's degree, Scrum certification or more. An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience will be considered -- we care more about your work experience than what you did in college.
