As Director of Experiential Marketing for Walmart you will lead a team of experienced marketers in the development of visual merchandising solutions and in-store retailtainment events for Toys, Entertainment, Home, Hardlines, Baby, Apparel, and Beauty. In this new role, you will be empowered to change the way our customers shop as you partner with merchants, operators, and suppliers to activate these departments in the most compelling and engaging ways.
Experiential Marketing Strategy: Develops initial draft of experiential marketing strategy and ensures alignment with Walmart's overall marketing and business strategy; socializes with other marketing leaders and associates. Reviews customer and competitor insight data and makes recommendations on target audience segments and customer experience priorities. Continuously adjusts strategy and plans based on campaign ROI, real-time trends and other insights.
Experiential Creative Brief Development: Develops experiential creative briefs for a large, complex campaigns (e.g., holiday) covering visual merchandising and retailtainment. Drafts direction and key messages to promote the desired behaviors, customer experience, and KPI’s. Reviews target audience, objectives, budget and timeline for all initiatives within for a large, complex campaign (e.g., holiday). Reviews and edits creative considerations (media, materials, tone).
In-Store Events and Retailtainment: Provides strategic advice and guidance to Experiential Marketing Managers regarding strategy and implementation of in-store events with few complexities. Assesses the impact of existing retailtainment initiatives and recommends strategic adjustments to drive product sales and customer engagement. Suggests new in-store retailtainment and marketing opportunities.
Managing Supplier Relationships: Manages relationships with key strategic suppliers for a category with few complexities. Negotiates product volumes, costs, and terms with suppliers for a category with few complexities.
Collaboration: Partners with suppliers and cross-functional teams to assist in the development of new, innovative ideas for visual merchandising solutions, Retailtainment and in-store events.
People Development: Builds and leads a team to execute on business area or category objectives. Ensures associates are receiving learning and development opportunities (e.g. training, mentoring) for the good of the associate and Walmart. Coaches team members and provides feedback to enhance skills, knowledge and work performance. Conducts performance and career development conversations. Mentors less experienced associates and managers.
Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.
Minimum Qualifications
1 year's supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional projects.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field and 4 years' experience in marketing or related field OR 7 years' experience in marketing or related field.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
2 years' supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional projects.
5 years' experience in marketing or related field.
Master's degree in Business Administration.
