Skyword is seeking an energetic, experienced self-starter with excellent organization and communication skills to manage development projects for our content marketing and analytics tracking applications. The Agile Project Manager is responsible for coordinating work through the software development lifecycle to the successful completion of projects on time and within scope. The person in this role works directly with our product managers, technology leadership, and internal scrum teams to reduce risk, ensure that deliverables remain on track, and maintain compatibility across all projects. In support of our agile teams, this person will also serve as scrum master. We are looking for a creative and dedicated individual who will fit with our collaborative culture.
What you’ll be doing
• Facilitating project estimation, slotting and roadmap planning
• Reporting on team metrics, successes, improvements, challenges, and opportunities to the Director of Agile Processes and other company stakeholders
• Coaching a small number of scrum teams to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
• Guiding teams on how to get the most out of self organization
• Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or judgement, with an emphasis on learning and problem solving
• Facilitating scrum ceremonies for one or more scrum teams
• Removing impediments to sprint work, and shielding teams from outside distractions and resource demands
• Assisting with internal and external communication and improving transparency
• Supporting and educating the Product Owners, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining healthy product backlogs
• Providing support to the team using a servant leadership style and leading by example
• Working in close partnership with technology leadership and teams to deliver solutions to the business
• Focuses teams toward business-driven development
• Supports team building and team development by utilizing the abilities and skills of individuals, and fostering a feedback culture
• Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
What this role requires
• 3 Years Experience as a project manager
• 1-3 years of project management experience working with software technology teams
• 1 year of project management working with agile project management and/or scrum master
• Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
• Knowledge and experience in the application of Agile frameworks: Scrum, Lean, Kanban, etc.
• Excellent communication skills
• Basic knowledge of software development processes and procedures
• Knowledge of user experience design and usability testing, preferred
• Experience as a developer, designer, or QA tester, helpful to provide guidance in coaching situations
• Proficient with JIRA or other project management tools, preferred
• Certified Scrum Master certification (CSM or PSM I), preferred
