As part of the Inside Sales team here at Blackboard, you’ll focus on helping to promote the Blackboard suite of products and services through a consultative selling approach. This team works to effectively align the Blackboard products to customer business objectives and demonstrate a quantifiable value proposition for the customer.
As an Inside Sales Representative you’ll be responsible for prospecting and qualifying new opportunities to ensure new accounts are being added to the pipeline consistently, as well as working in alignment with the Sales team to improve sales through inbound and outbound efforts. You’ll also focus on expanding the revenue opportunity within accounts by selling incremental follow-on business. You will also prepare written presentations and reports and request price quotations as well as conduct dynamic online sales presentations and product demos for potential customers. In addition, you will develop positive relationships with other employees in Solutions Engineering, Marketing, Product Support, Finance, Product Development, Client Success, and other departments as needed.
We’d like you to continually learn about new products and improve your sales skills by:
• Attending training events throughout the year and participating in tutorial learning when appropriate.
• Being well-informed about current industry trends and able to talk intelligently about the industry. Keeping abreast of competition, competitive issues and products.
• Becoming proficient with SalesForce.com and effectively using the sales force automation tool to enter all sales information into this system.
• Attending and participating in sales meetings, product seminars and trade shows.
The Candidate:
• Has light experience in a client support role or enterprise software/ commerce solutions sales industry via phone
• Thrives in a team environment
• Has excellent time management skills
• Can effectively manage a pipeline of 20+ leads at any given time
• Is familiar with prospecting, building a pipeline, moving opportunities through the sales cycle; proposing, presenting and discussing solutions with C-level and other decision-makers
• Enjoys crafting solutions with appropriate products and services that meet business goals based on client discussions
• Knowledge of the Higher Ed market and commerce/security industry is preferred
• Successful achievement of $400k+ annual quotas using a consultative selling methodology via phone and web conferencing is a plus
