Publishing Coordinator - Sasquatch Books
Sasquatch Books is seeking a Publishing Coordinator to join their team.
The Publishing Coordinator is a highly organized people person with an interest in learning the publishing business and a love of books. Based in the Seattle office of our thriving independent press, the Publishing Coordinator provides essential administrative support to various parts of the company with the majority of work falling in the Print Production, Editorial, and Business departments.
Primary Responsibilities:
• General office administrative office functions including handling magazine subscriptions, ordering office supplies, and staffing the front desk
• Manage reprint process, both offset and digital. Liaison with vendors including costs, orders, file set-up, proofs, corrections, schedules and invoices.
• Maintain digital and analog archives of new book and reprint files
• Provide assistance to Production Editors for proofreading and back-up checks
• Manage E-book submissions and reviews
• Handle Copyright and CIP filing
• Manage advance book orders and distribution
• Manage editorial galley printing and mailing
Requirements:
• Experience in office setting a plus.
Familiar with Mac computers and applications. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, and other Microsoft Office software.
• Familiarity of InDesign and Photoshop a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Detail-orientated
• Desire to learn the publishing business
