Position Summary
The primary function of the Deal Desk Analyst is to provide the data analysis, reporting and insights needed to help Deal Desk and Sales make better business decisions. This position reports to the Deal Desk Manager.
The ideal candidate will be adept at pulling together and presenting data in reports that are easy to use and practical for Account Sales Reps and Deal Development Managers to interpret. It requires proficiency with analytical tools, knowledge of data analysis methodology, use of presentation software, strong communication skills and a strong commitment for delivering the highest level of quality. Candidates should have a strong aptitude for problem solving and an interest in learning the workflow and operations of the Account Based Selling business and Deal Desk. The successful candidate will be able to balance and prioritize multiple demands for time in a rapidly evolving environment.
The duties for the early career position will vary depending on day-to-day needs. The key responsibilities and functions may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities
• Translate data into meaningful and actionable insights to support key business initiatives
• Assist in the creation of presentations for the management team using PowerPoint and other graphical programs
• Communicate with other analytical teams within Autodesk to ensure strong relationships and non-duplication of efforts
• Create and maintain process documentation for key activities and responsibilities
• Create external customer profile; compiling data from external sources such as Hoovers, customer website, and Dodge Reports
• Create internal customer profile; compiling data from internal sources
• Data Integrity: perform ongoing data audits; take active role in data integrity and data improvement
• Design, create and maintain the Deal Desk dashboards and reports to support regular tracking and publishing of daily/weekly/monthly reports
• Develop and maintain predictive forecasting methodologies, using information gathered on past activity to support the team with best case scenarios using real world data, e.g. predict deal development, consumption, adoption etc.
• Fulfill ad-hoc reporting on request
• In the Deal Desk customer research phase, use Excel to prepare customer Business as Usual (BAU) models, using customer historical spend data, current assets, current pricing lists, promotions and future pricing/offering changes to model future spend
• Maintain and continually develop the (BAU) Business as Usual Tool
• Maintain basic knowledge of Autodesk products, competition and industry trends along with promotions and other items related to doing business with Autodesk and/or its Partners
• Manage time effectively and adapt quickly to changing priorities
• Provide detail-oriented and analytical Excel documents, utilizing pivot tables, v-look ups, etc. to manipulate raw data in Excel spreadsheets
Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum of 1-4 years of experience Sales Operations, Data Analyst or Deal Desk, Deal Pricing or sales support experience
• Strong presentation skills
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook, PowerPoint
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Business, Statistics, Mathematics or a related discipline
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Minimal Travel
Preferred Qualifications
• Ability to work independently and multi-task
• Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Salesforce.com, Power BI, Tableau, QlikView a plus
• Organized and task oriented
