Program Director – WLS-AM
Cumulus- Chicago is searching for a new Program Director to lead our legacy AM News/Talk station into the next decade and beyond.
Role
The WLS-AM Program Director will report directly to the Vice President/Programming Operations and execute the day-to-day oversight of the brand - programming, production and promotion of all projects. The ideal candidate will be extremely organized and have a rich background in the News/Talk format with a specific nod towards the digital growth opportunities in content and revenue generation.
Focus
• Assign & manage daily program log, newsroom and news content for local digital platforms.
• Manage & coaching on-air talent, imaging & promotion direction.
• Work with Integrated Marketing Department to develop turn key events that match up with brand identity.
• Work with Sales Department on revenue generation opportunities on each brand platform.
Qualifications
• 5 years, Major Market News/Talk background.
• Proficient in news writing, gathering process, managing newsroom.
• Strong background in talent coaching, relationship/communication building.
