JOB DESCRIPTION
The FOX Network Center in The Woodlands, TX is searching for a Network Management Control (NMC) Technical Supervisor to join their team. The NMC department is responsible for satellite distribution and black-out switching of live and non-live regional sporting events and sports related programming to various regions across the country including all Fox Regional Sports Networks and the Fox Cable National Network platforms. This position is responsible for supervising NMC Technicians in a 24x7 mission critical broadcast facility. Additionally, this position oversees the operation and maintenance of various technical network systems in a high stress and high volume environment.
Responsibilities Include
• Setting clear expectations for assigned staff
• Supervising the daily activities of NMC Technicians routinely audit the performance of direct reports
• Cross-training in TOC and Master Control in order to gain an understanding of these departments that tie to NMC
• Acting as liaison with Transmissions, Master Control and other departments to ensure technical integrations and functionality
• Maintaining servers, databases, hardware systems and other necessary devices
• Training new employees on system operations and developing training procedures, manuals, guides, and protocols for the department
• Informing current staff of policies, procedures and protocols affecting technical operations
• Troubleshooting complex affiliate technical calls
• Working with vendors and other departments to resolve issues
Requirements
• A Bachelor Degree in Communications, Television Computer Science, Electronics or related area or commensurate experience and/or training or equivalent work experience
• Previous work history should include supervising (or serving in a lead position) individuals, training, scheduling and managing diverse work schedules, preferably in a 24-hour/7 work environment
• 2 or more years of experience in a broadcast technical position or telecommunications field is required
• 1+ years of experience in a troubleshooting or customer service position area is preferred
• Ability to perform all duties required of an NMC Technician is required
• Basic knowledge of all types of sporting events is required
• Network Management Control Technician, Master Control experience, Engineering or Cable Headend technical experience is strongly preferred
• Strong oral and written communication skills required - ability to speak and write in Spanish is a plus
• Capability to perform advanced trouble-shooting, identify on-air problems and respond to issues appropriately and in a timely manner are required
• Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary as well as the ability to multitask and perform well under pressure
• Ability to work any shift, including weekends, and holidays is required
