AMC Networks is looking for a Temporary Financial Manager within our New Digital Business Group. This dynamic group is focused on new streaming content businesses and currently operates the high-growth streaming video subscription services: Shudder, dedicated to suspenseful and thrilling entertainment, and Sundance Now, focused on true crime, exclusive thrillers, and dramatic series.
Shudder and Sundance Now are the leading SVOD services in their respective categories. They offer the best in curated, exclusive and original programming and are accessible on all major streaming video platforms (web, iOS, Android, Roku, Apple TV, FireTV, Xbox, Amazon, etc.). These services launched less than three years ago and are scaling globally at a rapid rate.
OVERVIEW OF ROLE
The Manager is primarily responsible for the review and preparation of monthly results, as well as both short and long term forecasting for the two businesses. This predominately includes: monthly P&L and Balance Sheet analysis, content rights tracking and reporting, and management of vendor payments. In turn, we are looking for the Manager to analyze the financial activities in order to be able to provide recommendations to senior leadership on the future financial plans for the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare and review analysis of Shudder and Sundance Now P&L and Balance Sheet accounts; provide strategic support to senior leadership
• Prepare monthly accruals
• Prepare disbursements, i.e. vendor payment requests and wires: ensure proper coding to the general ledger, adherence to contractual terms, and compliance to Company policy.
• Track content rights spend and programming slate
• Manage the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts
• Run analyses of marketing campaigns and subscriber trends
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
• CPA or MBA will be considered a plus
• Previous experience as a financial analyst, or related position
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Oracle experience is a plus
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Effective project and time management skills
• Self-starter and comfortable working autonomously
• Thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Experience working in entertainment / media industry is a plus
