Taylor Communications is GROWING in West Sacramento, CA!
We are adding an Inserting Operator to operate a variety of inserting equipment. This may include but is not limited to bindery, Bell & Howell, Gunther, and Pitney equipment. The position is responsible for setting up, loading, and operating inserting equipment, in a safe manner, while focused on quality.
Shift Available:
• Tuesday - Saturday
• 1:00 am - 9:30 pm, overtime as required (Shift hours subject to change)
Responsibilities Include:
• Start and monitors equipment operation
• Feeds or loads stock
• Lift cartons from pallets, carry cartons to pallets, opens carton, lifts stock out, slices stock if necessary and fans inserted statements.
• Responsible for conducting quality checks and ensuring high quality output of product in accordance with process standards and/or guidelines - visually inspects all machine output.
• Perform all required preventative maintenance on equipment
• Maintain inventory of consumables and supplies
• Read and interpret all job tickets and work instructions
• Meet production goals and requirements as related to run rates and waste
• Complete all required documentation as it relates to production, quality and equipment maintenance
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 2+ years’ of experience working as a Machine Operator preferably in a similar setting / capacity preferred.
• Must possess the ability to pick up new learning quickly and display a willingness to train and become knowledgeable of the products / equipment operational capabilities.
• Must be able to read and interpret instructions and numbers (in English) at level necessary to perform essential functions.
• Must demonstrate clear oral and written communications skill and work independently as well as in a team setting.
• Must possess basic computer terminal knowledge, keyboard skills.
• Good basic math and reading/comprehension skills.
• Attention to detail is a must.
• Good mechanical aptitude is a definite plus.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 8+ hours per day) and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
