Overview
Provide assistance to business unit functional area on difficult or complex matters which may include, employment and personnel documentation, compensation, and benefits. Acts as a liaison between departments/divisions, all levels of line and staff management, compensation and benefits department, legal counsel, and outside service providers.
Responsibilities
• Serves as initial point of advice, problem resolution and facilitation in the areas of employee relations, performance management and employee discipline; advises both employees and management regarding employee relations policies, procedures and documentation; researches, identifies and analyzes specific employee relations concerns and makes appropriate recommendations to management.
• Responds, in the role of a facilitator/mediator to concerns of internal conflicts between employees, employee(s) and\or manager(s). Investigates and recommends ways to resolves conflicts as appropriate for each issue.
• Conducts investigations of internal complaints of discrimination, ethics violations, unfair practices, fraud and theft. Prepares formal reports of findings and recommendations for the review of the Director of Human Resources.
• Interprets various federal, state, and local laws to ensure compliance. Provide counsel to senior management regarding pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation.
• Conduct studies, perform research and prepare management reports
• Oversee other members of HR staff to ensure they are working toward divisional and Company goals in an efficient and effective manner. Train employees on various topics
• Provide functional direction or training to lower level HR employees.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience required
• Minimum of 5 years related experience
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management and organizational skills
• Must be detail oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in using the Internet and other candidate sourcing tools for recruiting
• Ability to work with all levels of the organization
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite products
• PeopleSoft experience a plus
