The optimal candidate will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects with the goal of placing Viacom on the leading edge on the field of advanced analytics in the entertainment industry.
Through access to detailed linear TV data, social media data and digital data among others, the optimal candidate will identify, develop and implement the appropriate statistical and data mining analysis to address business challenges across the organization, providing reveling actionable insights with a clear impact on ROI.
The Director will work closely with the VP of the Data & Audience Development team to identify new opportunities and to manage existing analytical projects.
Responsibilities
• Work closely with the Research Teams to identify opportunities for Advanced Analytics with the purpose to serve several business units across the organization with the best insights for the most successful strategic decisions.
• Identify the best techniques to help understand the consumer’s behavior in the competitive landscape of the TV industry.
• Identify new source of raw data and facilitate access.
• Extract information from large data, validate data & translate metrics into visual tools and actionable insights to help business intelligence.
Basic Qualifications
• A bachelor’s or Masters in a quantitative discipline
• 4+ years’ experience in the field of advanced analytics and data mining.
• A strong knowledge in advanced statistics such as modeling, clustering, sampling, path analysis etc.
• Fluency in SAS and SQL programming languages
• Knowledge of other analytical tools such as R, Python, Matlab etc. is a plus
Additional Qualifications
• Strong influence and relationship management skills; comfortable interacting with all management levels; Prior experience in providing strategic analysis and consulting
• Passion for Big Data, ability to operate independently but work together in small teams.
