Overview
A Sales Planner acts as the primary point person for the execution of all campaigns, partnering with sales teams, sales managers, clients, and print and digital fulfillment teams. This person will communicate, collaborate and coordinate all advertising campaigns, which include assisting management and sales teams with client needs and working with Marketing, Creative, and Ad Operations teams on implementation and execution. Sales Planners will work directly with Multimedia Sales Reps to provide clients with elite customer service and the most efficient and effective experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist sales team in achieving sales revenue targets (with an emphasis on driving digital revenue)
• Coordinate with relevant internal departments on all levels of campaign execution across print and digital
• Process and manage Insertion Orders utilizing Tribune’s tools and systems
• Respond to requests about inventory, ad products, creative specifications, etc.
• Ensure all sold products are routed to the appropriate fulfillment teams or vendors
• Coordinate with relevant internal departments on all levels of campaign execution (Marketing, Ad Operations, Development, etc.)
• Work with Ad Ops team on execution, fulfillment, and correct billing of campaigns
• Work with Creative team to build creative/ ad units for campaign execution
• Work directly with Finance for billing reconciliation tasks and to resolve credit and billing issues
• Monitor production system and reports for missing advertising materials, maintaining deadlines
• Serve as point person with downstream operational teams (Creative, Layout, Pagination, etc.) to resolve issues and communicate findings and possible resolutions
• Facilitates fulfillment (delivery), tracking and billing of campaigns to ensure that deliverables meet client expectations
• Supports sales with customer, reporting, scheduling and sales rep needs
• May be responsible for managing and supporting white glove accounts, which require meticulous attention to detail and have substantial revenue accountability
• Duties include, but are not limited to this list and the employee may be asked to perform other duties as needed to meet company objectives
REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience
• Digital experience preferred but not required
• Show a high degree of self-motivation and work well within an individual and team environment
• Prefer one to two years of media experience, specifically in advertising
• Must exhibit excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously
• Must have a strong customer focus that conveys responsiveness and competence
• Organized, with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task under pressure
• Must display effective interpersonal skills to include areas of written and verbal communication as well as superior customer service skills
• Desire to learn different aspects of digital advertising
