Job Description
Hanley Wood is currently seeking a Network/System Administrator to work closely with our Corporate Technology Group. The Network/System Administrator position is responsible for providing unsurpassed technical expertise for the day-to-day network operations at our multiple data centers and offices and provide excellent service to our end users. This includes completing multiple network and system administrative assignments to support the organization's telecommunications and hosting activities.
Major Responsibilities and Related Duties Include:
• Purchases, services, monitors, and maintains core systems infrastructure components. This includes but is not limited to network hardware, software, operating systems, servers, backup and messaging technologies
• Maintains inventories of infrastructure equipment, software, and security settings, assuring compliance with licensing requirements and Hanley Wood Corporate standards
• Provides administration, new setup and troubleshooting for servers, sites, domains and routing
• Uses backup technologies daily to ensure proper data protection of the company’s digital assets
• Interfaces with other offices to support back office/administration wide area network needs
• Uses company and outside vendors to service and repair infrastructure systems
Qualified candidates should possess the following Skills, Education, and Ability:
• Minimum of 2 years of working in a complex network and systems environment
• Knowledge of network administration concepts, practices, and procedures
• Knowledge in Windows 2008/2012/2016 server environment and troubleshooting
• Knowledge with email and communications infrastructure such as Exchange 2010/2013/2016
• Knowledge in VMware 5-6.7
• Thorough knowledge of backup technologies and tape rotation concepts
• Strong knowledge of IIS configuration and troubleshooting desirable
• Working and troubleshooting knowledge of Cisco data communication devices
• Candidate should be capable of working with limited supervision and in a team environment while performing routine job duties
• Should have good organizational and problem solving skills
• Be pre-emptive and ambitious in problem solving
• Work in a controlled, structured manner
• Seek to share knowledge and ideas with others
• Be able to quickly take ownership of existing administrative processes and procedures, understand them, and improve upon them
• Rely on past experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Ability to work in a demanding environment and deal with hard and strict deadlines
• Ability to be on-call and work flexible hours
• Excellent people skills
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is desirable
• Recent MCSE certification desirable
• Cisco certification desirable
