The Strategic Client Lead is a senior sales position at Group Nine Media, reporting to the SVP of Strategic Partnerships and Global Advertising Sales. The ideal candidate will have experience building custom content partnerships and have a deep understanding of content distribution that lives on the major platforms – Facebook, Twitter, Snap and YouTube. Having existing relationships and working with advertisers in the consumer technology and mobile / telecom space will be highly considered.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Existing client relationships with c-suite executives to manage and grow a select set of key advertisers
• Desire to initiate, develop and maintain strategic partnership programs with Fortune 100 clients, with a particular emphasis on brand direct marketers
• Proven success building enterprise-wide, global upfronts with media and advertising clients
• A true team player with an attitude of collaboration and a desire to bring an innovative, flexible, creative and collaborative approach to building partnerships with clients and with colleagues
• Thorough understanding of client org charts, relationship mapping and key decision makers
• Ability to work with internal teams including creative ideation, media planners as well as internal sales counterparts
• Experience building a strategic selling framework, from development of marketing initiatives to access of senior decision-makers
• Travel, including internationally, as this role serves as account owner at a global level for key top clients
• Cooperation with local market client teams to drive success globally for campaigns executed
• Passion for digital / social and the Group Nine Media properties -- and a desire to translate that passion into a revenue drive that fuels our growth
Minimum Qualifications:
• BA/BS degree in related field
• 10+ years relevant sales experience
• Experience working in a digital media company
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Desired Characteristics:
• Relevant experience at a start-up or new media company, preferred
• Must be able to think strategically, leverage research, understanding marketer needs and creatively translate these needs into compelling concepts and programs
• Strong attention to detail, be flexible, consultative, and able to work at a fast pace and collaboratively with colleagues
