The Director of Marketing will be responsible for the management of Company resources that support the Ohio Lottery’s SGEP business unit including; marketing, sales, promotions, operations management, game development, research and product analysis as well as contract procurement, new and existing business expansion and legislative liaisons. Work with lottery to develop business plans, growth strategies and policy recommendations. Responsible for ‘Profit and Loss’ financial revenue contribution of the business unit including oversight of the warehousing and distribution facility supporting the Ohio Lottery.
• Communication between customer and corporate business units is absolutely essential in the over-all success of the operation.
• Provides top tier customer service to the Lottery management team as required
• Develops and recommends the marketing objectives, plans and programs that are complementary to the Lottery’s strategies, including new game launches, enhancements and changes as well as promotions for instants product portfolio.
• Monitors and reviews Master Schedule for production accuracy and revenue development.
• Manages internal and external customer conflicts toward appropriate resolution
• Provides the customer with industry trends and information.
• Assists the lottery with the execution of market research including focus groups and surveys on new instant product concepts.
• Escalates and follows-up on all customer requests that require additional support and visibility, or affect scope outside of local site.
• Provides direction for the site management team to ensure they are meeting deadline deliveries, and contractual obligations in their respective management responsibilities.
• Responsible for direct interaction with Sales & Distribution Manager and their Tel-Sell and distribution center operations staffs.
• Responsible for overall development of all personnel and staff reporting directly or indirectly
• Escalates and follows-up on all customer requests that require additional support and visibility, or affect scope outside of the local site.
• Ability to manage project schedules while meeting project deadlines and budgets
• Responsible for the achievement of the overall financial targets.
• Prepares sales forecasts for use in the planning of manufacturing operations and inventory control
• Manages the development and maintenance of tactical sales and marketing analysis reports.
• Reviews status reports detailing game production information such as working paper execution, press dates and delivery schedules to insure contract compliance.
• Prepares monthly account review reports including financial forecasts report, R&O report and maintains account plan information.
Position Requirements
• Strong understanding of marketing and product branding
• Be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
• BS Degree in Business, Management or related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years demonstrated marketing and/or management level experience. The related experience in the Lottery industry is a plus.
• Strong leadership and management experience
• Advanced knowledge of customer support operations
• Experience in a high volume consumer product environment
• Experience in planning and implementing marketing research and analysis
• Experience in technical operations with software and system tools is a plus
• Ability to negotiate contracts with outside vendors on Company and/or customer’s behalf
• Ability to work effectively with senior level Company management as well as Lottery management and state government officials
• Be a self-starter and able to work well independently or in a group environment
• Some travel required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
• Good leadership skills
• Ability to remain tactful and diplomatic in difficult situations
• Positive and self-motivated attitude and ability to work with others as a team
