Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY
The employee in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both internal and external guests. The Marketing Intern is responsible for learning and executing the various policies and procedures required of the Fan Club attendant and Casino Host positions. The position is also responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of advertising pieces, direct mail pieces and special events & promotions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides superior guest service, positively affects interactions with guests and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions and the ability to work effectively and courteously with fellow employees.
• Complete assigned summer project within the 90 day internship timeframe.
• Work with the Marketing Coordinators to assure high standards of guest service for any marketing promotion or event.
• Issues player cards for new and existing accounts and issues any benefits and marketing related perks from those player card accounts.
• Assist in updating and maintaining all social media information including property website, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages
• Assist in tracking weekly expenditures, including costs for advertising, database and special events and promotions and preparing variance summaries for financial reviews.
• Assist in preparing creative assignment forms for direct mail and advertising initiatives
• Assist in gathering and analyzing all data needed to provide suggestions for mail files, coupons and any direct mail determined plans.
• Assist in maintaining a cohesive and constant image for the company in all advertising, print production and signage.
• Communicates between guests and management employees to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Comply with our drug & alcohol free workplace. Subject to for cause and post-accident drug tests.
• Completes all company-required training within designated time frames.
• Other duties, as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Must have the ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, computer keyboard, telephone, and microphone.
• Must have the ability to review and comprehend player data and other necessary documentation and observe play of guests.
• Must have the ability to maintain strict confidentiality relative to financial data, casino policies and marketing plans.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively with guests, vendors and all levels of employees.
• Must have the ability to work in a casino environment exposed to smoke, bright lights and noise.
• Must have the ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressure in an interruptive environment.
• Third or fourth year college student preferred
• Must be able to obtain a Missouri Gaming License
• Must possess average computer skills, specifically with all Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to learn multiple casino tracking programs, inclusive of but not limited to: CMS and LMS.
• Excellent customer service experience
• Must have the ability to solve complex problems
• Oral and written communication skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Broad variety of task and deadlines may require an irregular work schedule.
• Accuracy in completing assigned duties in a timely manner
• Will require the following: walking 15%, standing 10%, sitting 65%, lifting 10% (up to 50 lbs.)
• Ability to be at work on time as scheduled on a regular basis which may include nights, weekends, and holidays
