Position Summary
Tribune Media Company is looking for a Manager, Talent Acquisition to help us find the best talent for our broadcast stations and corporate offices. In this newly created role, you will have ownership of full lifecycle recruiting for assigned departments within the organization. You will draw from your extensive knowledge of Talent Acquisition to source and assess talent and forge dynamic relationships with business leaders, hiring managers, HR business partners and most importantly…candidates!
Responsibilities
• Proactively source, screen, interview, and place qualified candidates. This includes posting jobs, pre-screening resumes, interviewing candidates both on the phone and in person, and partnering with hiring managers throughout the selection process
• Identify/clarify hiring specifications and competencies, document and confirm principal requirements to ensure accurate and detailed job descriptions, and develop recruiting action plans
• Implement sourcing strategies to identify a qualified and diverse candidate pool for existing and future opportunities
• Build strong relationships with Hiring Managers, HR Leaders and Compensation to ensure a smooth recruiting process
• Partner with business leaders and HR colleagues to develop strategies, programs and initiatives that improve talent retention
• Identify and cultivate partnerships with colleges/universities and professional organizations to support the organization’s talent acquisition and pipeline strategy
• Contribute to Tribune’s social media strategy and cultivate a unified brand presence across multiple channels
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of five years full-cycle, in-house recruiting experience in a Corporate environment
• Minimum three years’ experience in utilizing Applicant Tracking Systems (iCIMS preferred) and experience with other Talent Acquisition technology (internet sourcing tools, campaign management tools, networking/referral technology)
Desired Characteristics
• Passionate about providing exceptional customer service to internal and external partners and clients
• Strong knowledge of basic employment law and HR practices
• Proven ability to adapt well to a changing professional environment and new ways of thinking
• Possess a wide range of experience on current external recruiting policies, practices, and trends
• Able to assess staffing needs and develop creative and effective recruiting strategies
• Aptitude in assessing intangible aspects of candidates accurately (candidate’s fit with the position and with the company culture)
• Able to in work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment and work with all levels of management
• Propose and implement ongoing improvements to Tribune’s recruitment efforts
• Prior broadcast/media experience preferred
• Prior experience recruiting for IT talent
