Position at Ziff Davis
The Business Strategy Intern opportunity is opportunity is with the business unit within the Ziff Davis portfolio that contains our tech and commerce-focused digital-media properties, including: Mashable, PCMag, Offers.com, Askmen, and Geek.com.
We are seeking highly motivated interns to develop and execute organic and inorganic growth strategies for Ziff Davis. As part of the Strategy & Business Development team, MBA Summer Associates will report directly to the Director of Strategy & Business Development.
The Strategy & Business Development team is responsible for three major drivers of growth:
1. Core Strategy (e.g., organic growth planning, content monetization, etc.)
2. Business Development (e.g., social media partnerships, content syndication, etc.)
3. Corporate Development (e.g., M&A, due diligence on targets, etc.)
The Business Strategy Intern will support ongoing priorities in each of the growth drivers above. Ideal candidates will be self-starters capable of owning projects from start-to-finish and have a good understanding of the key social-media platforms, common digital-media revenue streams, and major players in our industry.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be graduating with the class of 2019
• Have authorization to work in the United States this summer and after graduation
• Ability to relocate to New York, NY if necessary
Preferred Qualifications
• Pursuing a B.S. or B.B.A in Economics, Business/Management, Finance, Media/Entertainment management
• Demonstrated interest in digital media, the tech industry, and Ziff Davis’ business
• Strategic thinker, with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, “start-up” environment
• Great analytical skills and familiarity with building slides, Excel modeling, and other supporting analyses
• Prior internship experiences in corporate development, investment banking, management consulting, or corporate strategy
