Position Overview
The Business Intelligence Developer will be responsible for designing technical solutions for business intelligence. The ideal candidate must be a jack of all trades and very adaptable willing to wear multiple hats in order to achieve success. You’ll have the opportunity to do all this while maintaining a high quality of life. Travel is minimal, hours are usually reasonable and family priorities are taken into consideration. Responsibilities
• Analyze business requirements and create functional requirements specifications
• Create design specifications to meet functional and business requirements
• Create, enhance and maintain Universe semantic layers
• Develop new reports and enhance existing reports; connecting to single or multiple data sources
• Analyze existing reports and improve performance
• Investigate and resolve production issues escalated by production support team
• Conduct business stakeholder interviews to ascertain business problems
• Document and create business requirements
• Elicit business pain points and establish technical/data capabilities
• Attend daily stand-ups with developers to identify risks and to keep project target
• Participate in Sprint Demo as pre-cursor to User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Facilitate UAT with business stakeholders
Miniminum Qualifications
• 5-10+ years of hands-on Business Objects Web Intelligence reports and Universe development in BI 3.x and 4.x enterprise deployments
• Full report development life cycle experience with proven record of following industry best practices and standards
• Well versed with SQL/T-SQL and stored procedures on large relational databases
• Experience solving business problems with data in an enterprise environment
• Must be a seasoned professional as it relates to data analytics
• Blend of data and business analysis skills
• Able to tell a story with data
• Experience and ability to prototype within the toolsets required
• Must communicate well with internal and external customers
• Create new Universe structures as per the business requirements
