Requirements
Position Description:
Working in St. Martin Press/Flatiron/Tor-Forge/Celadon Subsidiary Rights department as a Foreign Rights Assistant, this individual will be a key member responsible for providing support to the Director, Associate Director and and Foreign Rights Manager in selling our titles throughout the world.
Major Responsibilities:
• Handle all rights requests via agents and international publishers
• Trafficking production and art materials in a timely, efficient manner
• Assist in bulk mailings of materials for co-agents and international clients
• Liaison between editorial, marketing, production, sales, and design departments
• Assist in prep work for international book fairs including gathering materials, printing materials, and mailing materials
• Initiate and respond to correspondence with co-agents, clients and authors, on wide-range subjects, including but not limited to contracts, production materials, artwork, and submissions.
• Provide administrative support as necessary
Required Skills / Knowledge:
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional organizational skills and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadline and work independently
• Experience at multitasking while working in a fast paced, energetic environment
• Strong work-ethic
• Strong computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
Experience Needed:
• One year or more with sub-rights experience a plus
Educational Background Required:
• Bachelor’s degree required
